but don't have 32gb now yet. only 16gb

Samsung mentioned during the media launch that the 32GB version will come later (I expect it to be within 1 month, by end of July hopefully), 64GB based on market demand (I think not so much demand here)

HEY, how to use the GPS??? dont need connect to wifi or enable data communication right???? y mine only work if wifi n data communication is work???is this means my gps not working?
*
are you using google maps/waze or another third party GPS app (like papago/sygic)? If google maps or waze, then you need data as well as the maps are not stored on the device and needs to be accessed on the server.

But if papago or sygic shouldnt need data.

Mostly GPS signal will work faster (faster Location Lock) when you have data or wifi connections.
Your phone needs to grab little info on your current location data, so it'll take quite long time for your phone to get a signal lock from satellite if you're not with internet connections (Up to 10 minutes).
With little internet connection, your location data is retrieved the GPS locks within seconds.
These are from what I have experienced from my previous Android phones la.. Should be applicable to S3 too.. tongue.gif

agreed! when TS has time later can include the rooting process step by step so that no one could ever ask it again and again.

and btw, would like to ask, if i root the phone, can i still receive official updates from Samsung when they are released without any conflicts etc?

here's a simple way for rooting too.

Yes..you can receive FOTA updates provided that you root but stay on official stock roms. Buy SuperSU Pro so you superuser will survive FOTA. Another easy way is you manually update your firmware using Mobile Odin.

ouh, thanks for the info. So if we opt to manually update the firmware, need to download them individually from XDA dev site? that's gonna be a hassle.

Anyway thanks for the SuperSU Pro. Searched it just now. Another buying it seems if i wana go on a rooted way. sweat.gif

- backup is catch 22. if i don't root i can't do titanium backup. but if i root i may risk loosing my data before i even do a titanium backup.
- i am living happily without this feature.
- don't think i need market enabler. i only use a handful of apps, mainly for work and family.
- i don't visit porn sites too often. tongue.gif

i am just a user. i do not need to be a power user. or at least i don't want to complicate things with my to be beloved s3.

( i sound qualified to be an iphone user)

May I know where you get this info rooting will lose your data ??
Rooting will NOT delete or affect any data in your phone
Seriously I have yet to come across any case any user losing stuffs after rooting . Unless that user is hopelessly stupid and do not know how to follow simple instructions . The worse can happen he fail to root it only
Flashing rom can possibly affect your phone data definitely no such thing for rooting alone

No such thing such as loosing data when rooting (This is not the iPhone's jailbreak we're talking about)
You can do backups without rooting too. AppMonster and MyBackup are the apps smile.gif
And don't think that only porn sites have ads. The ads we're referring to is in-app ads which often comes with some free apps. Rooting allows one to remove the ads when we use the respective apps.

btw guys, where's Market Enabler? I tried searching for it in the Play Store recently but to no avail
