There's nothing officially named Mk. 48 yet.... There might be another Movie promo exclusive in 2015 for Avengers 2..... and before that there's toy-fair exclusive 2013 and 2014 to consider...

That totally expensive.
I blame Play Imaginative... making the need for HT to go die-cast... Though it does force HT to innovate, improve repulsor hands....elbow joints... HT could still improve on the neck/head joint.

PVC version would be the PowerPose Series (which comes out before MMS197 D2).... The MMS (non-DieCast) would be mostly made of ABS plastic

comparing with PVC, diecast might not be so competitive because of the price.
Normal MMS Iron Men has probably 10% Poly Vinyl Chloride ... The rest 90% is Plastic (injected ABS)

At 860..880 HT is cutting their own market ... many are "put off" by the price...

Power Pose Series which should be made with mostly PVC has already been announced.
