Just want to clarify with sifu here...
Mention by my distributor sales person that Gigabyte PoweRock 500w(GE-A500N-C2) is not true power.
Is this true? From the latest price list they provide they put 78% Efficiency and they remove the 80+ Certified.
New model or they found out this is not true power?

Your distributor is probably referring to the Gigabyte PoweRock EK series, not the PoweRock series smile.gif. Gigabyte lists it as GE-A500N-C2 though, not CE.

New and different model actually. That's the PoweRock EX series which is not 80plus certified, and yups the actual power is less than the labeled power (my estimation would be around 450W to 474W). The better PSUs are the older PoweRock series (without the "EX"). wink.gif

Yes, that's the EX series: Specifications here: GigaByte PoweRock EX 500W (GE-A500N-C2) though not sure who's the OEM. You can compare with the previous GigaByte PoweRock 500W (GE-N500A-C2) with beefier +12V rails and is made by CWT (known OEM for Corsair and Antec PSUs). flex.gif
