Maxis is going to be Single RAN network but is it full LTE network?
If no mistaken they are running Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB), where data goes for LTE but voice goes for CS.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_%28teleco...%29#Voice_calls

Also wondering if celcom/umobile/DiGi also doing the same thing for their network?

My wild guess based on Maxis latest offerings , its stated on its Web Sale kit

smile.gif

btw, have you guys tried DiGi's Tomolo's Network HSPA+ now, it improved tremendously since the upgrades were over as most of its pre upgrade customers have already moved over to Umobile or Maxis......its freaking smooth ( browsing), living up to its name Turbo 3G, even my package QoS of 384/384 run as though its 42000/8640, but on DDL its no match with DC-HSPA+ la..........

bro, is thr anyway to check mobile data qos?
for example thru tethering or wifi hotspot?

Maxis: launched Jan 2013, smartphones April 2013 [3 months]
Celcom: launched April 2013, smartphones June 2013 [2 months]
Digi: launched July 2013, smartphones XXXX 2013

Looking at the trend, it takes around 2-3 months for telco to offer smartphones after their LTE launch.
So most likely Digi will have it in Sept or Oct this year. But this is just my guess, i may be completely wrong..

Technically CSFB is required. This is a matured features that has been implemented in almost all LTE network worldwide, and supported by all LTE phones. It is just the matter of tweaking the parameters in the network and working with phones manufacturers to fit their network settings.. Again, my guess it will happen soon...

If i were you I will wait, unless if my LTE phone is iPhone5, then I will port because Digi's LTE doesn't support 1.8GHz

Maxis launch CSFB at 8 Feb 2013...

I don't understand the speed.

Say for example HSDPA+ is 42mbps, why at most, even when im right next to the tower, i never reach this speed?
*
should be operator limitation...
operator can set the limit for gold silver and other subscribers...
the gold silver standard is defined by operator itself...
i only have celcom one...
there is a table...
it limits the LITE advance bla bla bla package with different speed which same as those posted in their website...
it is called E2E QOS... should be End to end quality of service? not sure hmm.gif

digi should be doing the same thing.. my speed capped at 3-5mbps when H+ and H...
which supposely 21mbps and 14.4mbps/7.2mbps

not sure maxis and umobile as i saw many ppl can get 42mbps..... blink.gif

So I got the Digi USIM simcard at KLCC for RM10 on Saturday and the dude said it will be activated in 2 hours.

Monday morning nothing happened, so I gave them a call (ridiculous helpline). Gave them the simcard number and they said will be activated in 4 hours.

24 hours passed by and still no signal when I put in the USIM card... called them again and they passed me to the Technical Support queue. Waiting time was 30 minutes. I hang up.

How hard is it to get a simcard activated?
*
10 minutes...
Go to digi centre to change ur sim next time.
I used 10 minites to get my sim activated, after they upgraded their server last few weeks
