Hello fellow citizen. Just a quick question, im planning to get a 4g modem, but i want one with extra external antenna slot ;

1. Any suggestion?( not tht pricey, support MY bands, and unlocked, im using celcom)
2. I saw alcatel y800, but does it come with external antenna slot?

Sorry if i ask wrong place, thanks in advance.

O yeh, btw is there any website that i can use to check coverage map for 4G in peninsular malaysia?  nod.gif
tried to google it, but no luck. Thanks.  notworthy.gif

Try do a search and you will see a few people complained about the stability issue of Alcatel Y800. It's cheap but come with issues.

Try E398, E3276

mine's e3276s-150 ,  no telco brand.  hmm.gif mine's no hi-link?
is there any difference between hilink e3276 and non-hilink version in terms of performance?
*
Same hardware but run different firmware.

HiLink just like MiFi without Wifi capability. Performance difference should be none if both configured property.

does anyone using cat 4 modem eg. huawei e3276 really see faster speed?
*
Not a significant improvement now, future maybe yes
But newer modem tends to be slightly more stable.

hye all.. im searching info/review/comment about ALCATEL ONE TOUCH L800 but seems cant find any.. or maybe the way i search wrong.. sorry if my post already been ask.. need review/comment about this model. quite low on budget for 4g modem.. this is the lowest price i can search..

*and after i post this i try search n found 1 reply.. lol.. sorry guys..

thinking using usb modem with tplink mr3020, ok or not?
*
L800 may be unstable when heated up

I dont think it will work on MR3020

Other alternative you can look for E398 or 320U. This 2 will work well and low budget as well.

Look for TP-LINK 3G/4G compatibility list

Some unlisted modem may work

i heard it when i was in Yes Centre in queensbay last time is going to be simless on LTE TDD , not sure how true it is,..

If it is the case, YTL could roll out their own device and make it proprietary which is a bad thing.

Speedtest.net is never accurate anyway wink.gif

Best way of testing is to download a test file

You can try this HTML5 based speedtest

Just make sure your device support LTE FDD 2600Mhz and 1800Mhz on the spec sheet.

There are a few variants of the same device for different carrier in US.
