@jaQ-Ass, try set your wifi to 5GHz if your router support it and change the channel to 6 or 11..

Can you check the wireless model on the device manager ?
And also check the wireless setting, change the 20MHz to auto if available.

so, this problem is because of the bad design of the card or just driver incompatible >
*
Some says its an early draft-n wifi card, so might have incompatibility issues.

Anyone opened the wifi card and it got two antenna or one antenna attached ?

Seems like BCM4313 is single stream only, hence max is 72Mbps

Network Card:                                                                   Atheros Communications AR9285 802.11b/g Wireless Network Adapter
Maximum Link Speed:                                                             54 Mbps
isit normal how u all can reach 72 and 144 ?
*
What router you are using ?
and if you are using WEP authentication, change it to WPA2.
Since WEP only support 54Mbps.

QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Sep 20 2012, 09:34 PM)
mine also 54mbps max,but whats the difference between 54mb and more?
my internet only 5mbps..so its well below the max speed,am i right? o.O

Someone enlighten me please,im not familiar with this..
*
For internet, not much difference.
For intranet, it matters..

Yup, it matters when sharing files over network.
LAN, well wireless is still fine unless your place got alot interference..

Not stable, try install inSSIDer and scan your environment, see which channel is crowded and change your channel in the router to the less crowded one.
or move your router closer to you.

linksys model (wrt54g)

Then the max speed is 54Mbps.
You need Wireless-n router and Wireless-n card in order to get more than 54Mbps

Oh, good choice, but I though Samsung also not bad?
I am only targeting around 120GB SSD jek.
Between Intel 330, Crucial M4, Samsung and Kingston, depens which one offer better pricing and performance for around 120GB.
*
If you want cheap, Intel 330.
Samsung 830 is more expensive and under load, it eats more power consumption..

QUOTE(kwcheah @ Sep 21 2012, 05:02 PM)
Thanks for the suggestion ya.
Hmm... Good Idea, too bad that MSATA HDD is too expensive liow.

If I get MSATA the cost is around 400, then SSD around another 400 and a 1TB HDD will cost also 400. Total 1,200, over budget liow xD. Maybe can consider again when the price of MSATA have been reduced.
*
mSATA is just slightly expensive..
and why get another SSD?

Driver already tried to update, right?

If move closer to the router, is it better?

Can you try open the notebook and check if the antennae is properly attached to the wifi card ?
