Dear All,

Anyone know if the Broadcom WIFI max at 72mbps for Y580?

That is very bad, the transfer rate is only able to reach 2mBps while my 4 years old Dell can reach above 5mBps easily.

noticed that also. especially under wifi N. i updated the driver and now i need to test some more.

the signal is also weak compared with other competitors model.

am currently using 5.100.82.112 (stock lenovo drivers)

saw that HP has drivers for 5.100.82.139 that is released on 2012-07-13

and i found out that asus has version 6.30.59.0.

i suspect it is the antivirus issue that causes the wireless problem.

McAfee make the wireless damn slow, especially when startup .
Uninstall it, something magical will happen brows.gif  brows.gif

yeah. that's what i noticed! it was mcafee all along. WTF! but still the wireless signal strength is quite low because this one is 2 antenna model. other wifi n comes with 3.

So which driver are you using now? I can't find any new driver for this Broadcom card, cause Lenovo didn't even mention which model we are having.
*
i dont think you need a new driver. i uninstalled mcafee and the wifi issue ok already.

oh okay. thx. so basically there's no problem with anything inside the laptop? because i thought i read before there's problem with the broadcom? and some problem with the drivers installed in y580. is it true? yawn.gif

driver is not an issue for me. the broadcom issue is because of the mcafee antivirus. i uninstalled it and the wifi cantik already.

so many thing mcafee load during startup. refer to picture attached.

and i have called lenovo support center. they mentioned to me i can ask the technician to change my wifi card to another manufacturer one if the problem persist.
just bring my laptop to plaza ibm near one utama there then can already.
