Hi all,

I am currently using Steelseries Xai but lately, the butons are not that responsive anymore...single click becomes double click. Scroll wheel isnt smooth anymore.

So thinking of gettin a new mouse but not that expensive since I'm a retired FPS gamer...mostly MMOs now..

Any suggestion? I left the gaming mouse scene since I got my Xai. Looking for something in the region of RM150.
*
Logitech G600? Great for MMO?

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Mar 1 2013, 01:33 PM)
Any othersmall size?

Gf looking for one...

How small ?

Also what's the price... I saw RM 279 by heavy arm

Damn expensive, honestly...
*
Logitech G300. Confirm fit girly hands. to them the G300 is like the G400 for us I reckon. It's really comfortable to grip, but it's too small for my liking. I'm selling it off RM50 brand NEW (without postage). PM me if you're interested.

QUOTE(wordtalks @ Mar 1 2013, 10:18 PM)
Hi guys, need some idea on which is better.
Previously using Dell stock mouse and now using AVF Rapoo N3000. Need some planning on my future mouse.

Planning for a laser mouse but feel like too much for me, so I've chosen the followings.
Logitech G300 or G400?

Requirement:
-Budget below RM100 but can extend if necessary.
-Taking it slow, I can wait for the best choice, not desperate for mouse yet.
-Optical is good enough! More than my current's, which is 1000dpi.
-Look sleek? Like a curve on the side on the mouse.
-Wired/Corded. Fed up with batteries.
-Programmable buttons, makes my work alot easier.

Thanks for the suggestion icon_rolleyes.gif
*
G300 can be too small if you have big hands like me. Go out and try them out first. If you want a lot of buttons and below RM100, I think the best choice is G300 hands down. Though the G400 can be programmed too, but the G300 has 3 different profiles to choose from.

Both also seems to be small to me, but G300 is of course slightly smaller.
so far i think i am ok with palm grip and claw grip, just starting only blush.gif
*
G400 considered small to you? You have really big hands then! rclxms.gif

The G300 sizably smaller than the G400, not just slightly. Hmm..

Maybe you should consider the G100 Combo as well. Since you're using stock keyboards and mouse right? Time to upgrade the looks bro. Hehe.

In terms of gaming? Yeah, optical is good.

Some even prefer optical over laser.

hmm then why u selling it away? G300

I bought a DeathAdder while waiting for the G300 for RMA.

The G300 is brand NEW and have no use for it, so selling it off.

QUOTE(Ulysses @ Mar 3 2013, 12:09 PM)
g300 for the win... a good mouse not for gaming only, but multi function softwares too.
*
Yeah I miss using the Macros set with the software, like Cut, Paste etc. But I could do with the keyboard anyways.

QUOTE(tennytyy @ Mar 3 2013, 02:07 PM)
Laser can be used on any surface, optical cannot
*
Yeap. But why don't invest on a mousepad if you can spend so much money on a mouse? The Razer Goliathus is a good choice. Or QCK mini if tight on budget. You will never regret you invested.

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Mar 5 2013, 12:24 PM)
most of them are what I've read

I am very sensitive towards mouse so I definitely have more "to say" when using one

I've been using the A4tech 760h, which uses ANTI VIBRATE technology and I feel its awesome because I do lift my mouse a lot... The Razer (and probably your mouse) tracks a little (jitters) and lifting the mouse and I hate that

based on this sole reason, I cant use any other mouse technology already unless I find one with such tech.

As for all the other cons, those are what I've read up... can be completely different based on expectations and usage but I somewhat forsee those are true anyways

if you read lowyat front page, (not the forum) they annouced a new SC2 mouse by Razer coming again with the expansion of Heart of the Swarm, so maybe thats why the price is like that now smile.gif
*
There can be more than 1 single factor that they drop the price. New technologies, new sensors, new series of products, bad product, clear stock, unpopular & etc. etc.

For your case, you got it at RM99, it's quite a bargain, and if you're happy using it, there's no point reading out reviews saying that they are bad or what so ever. Instead, make your own review on the mouse.

I wonder if there's anyone who's capable of fixing faulty mouse here. I have a R.A.T 7 that I brought at least a year ago when I travel, used for about a month before I encounter some issue with laser. The buttons works fine, just that the laser aren't doing anything and I can't move the cursor. During that time I tried to send it in for RMA, but there are only center in EU so I just keep it in the box until now.
*
What would I do is to contact the support team at Madcatz, look for help there.

For me when anything happens to my Logitech mouse, I contact the online customer service first, then they will guide me to my next step.

QUOTE(nickiow @ Mar 10 2013, 11:49 PM)
while I tested the gaming mice. Many people are looking for an answer to the question what is the best gaming mouse for them? My advice is that the best gaming mouse is the one that meets your confirmation. Before you go to buy a gaming mouse, find out what are the main features of the gaming mouse. And then you will buy the best gaming mouse for your needs. On http://www.best-gaming-mouse.net/ you can find a guide for buying a gaming mouse. Remember there is no best gaming mouse, but one gaming mouse can be better than another.
*
Usually we talk about the sensors, how comfortable the mouse is and the budget for the gaming mouse.

We rarely talk about which gaming mouse is better than which gaming mouse. CPI / DPI wars are pretty much dead. For example, who needs 11000 CPI anyways? It's just a marketing gimmick. And when we do talk about which mouse is better than which mouse, is probably we want to get a mouse that has the most feature out of the same range of price.

As long the sensor is good, the shape is good, and the price is within your budget, it can already be the best gaming mouse in your books.

QUOTE(Nojo @ Mar 11 2013, 12:03 AM)
I did when I first encounter the problem , there's is just no way I can RMA it. They just keep passing the problem to another branch. What more after years now, I don't think it's even under warranty anymore.
*
If that is the case, I think you are probably left with no choice. Maybe you can send to some electronics shop to get a check on the circuit board etc.

Else, you got to move on and get another mouse. I once had a Acrox Gaming Mouse, once the sensor went bad, I didn't get the support I should have. In the end, I gave up on it because sending it to repair can probably get me a new gaming already for the same cost of sending it to repair the mouse.

The only bad thing is that your RAT7 doesn't come cheap. Good luck.

QUOTE(SoulRex @ Apr 3 2013, 06:08 PM)
i ardy got DA 3.5g,it served me well but do not last long, right clicky not so nice to click anymore.....as for sensei hardly can see demo set in melaka..
*
How long did it last you? Hardcore gamer? I personally think that the DA lasts longer for FPS players compared to Dota players. I didn't like how it felt when I'm playing dota. Seems the buttons are very fragile as I do multiple left clicks sometimes.

QUOTE(Searingmage @ Apr 3 2013, 07:30 PM)
You can give G700 a consideration as well..
Sensei RAW is pretty good also.. Would suggest Sensei RAW over deathadder
*
In terms of what? The sensor? How about the comfortableness? My first priority in getting a mouse is the comfort level / ergonomics of the mouse, which is very important to me, as I do long hours of work on the computer. I'm a palm gripper, so I personally think the DA is awesome..

QUOTE(afadzil21 @ Apr 4 2013, 02:07 PM)
Having all 3 I can say that hands down the DA 2013 is one of the best I've used, comfort, tracking and feel. Sensei is awesome as well, great for ambidextrous mouse lovers. G700 is good, but too many buttons just gets in the way sometimes. Especially since they are all over the place unlike the thumb grid on the G600.

Try to feel the mouse somewhere before you buy. Comfort is quite a personal thing and comes down a lot to your grip, palm, claw or fingertip. You also need to choose the right surface for the mouse. Laser mice like the Sensei and G700 track well on hard surfaces. Optical like the DA and Recon I use are well suited to cloth which I prefer. Don't just buy something for the crazy high DPI or awesome looks, believe me many good looking mice are a pain when held in hand. Tried and true designs like the MX from Logitech and DA from Razer are strong because they work.
*
BTW, does the surface of the 2013 version same as the 3.5G? The rubber matte surface? I got a bit regret that I didn't go for the Black Edition. Now I'm so worried about the rubber surface going sticky.

QUOTE(afadzil21 @ Apr 9 2013, 04:05 PM)
The G700 is better than the Orochi IMHO. Quite a solid wireless signal. But for gaming, almost apples to apples, the G500 seems just ever so slightly more responsive. Like it or not, wireless just isn't great for gaming. I've heard some good things about the Mamba though, but mainly once it's in wired mode. Orochi doesn't even get full DPI wireless since its BT based. Use two mice like I do, a good Logi wireless for general work, and a wired gaming grade for gaming.

If you really want wireless, try out the G700, Mamba or Ouroboros. R.A.T.9 doesn't have a wired mode, making it a no no in my books.
*
Erm bro, sorry to interrupt, but errr, his budget is RM100-200.

So the ones you recommend above is pretty much out of his league. Well, of course unless he pumps up his budget.

What he said

Anyways, then it can't be a 'gaming' mouse, but a wireless mouse good enough for gaming. I would suggest one of Logitech's wireless mice. I've had the VX Nano and the MX Anywhere and they're damn good mice.
*
Even a labeled wireless gaming mouse isn't really good for gaming and you tell me those two are good enough? 1000dpi , 125Hz refresh rate, good enough for gaming? Seriously?

Frankly speaking, for that budget RM100-200, better get a good WIRED gaming mouse like DA 3.5G, G400, G500 & etc.

Conclusion, wireless mouse for gaming? Still no go for me. I'd rather spend my moolah on a good WIRED mouse.

QUOTE(afadzil21 @ Apr 10 2013, 10:01 PM)
I didn't say they are good gaming mice, I said they're good mice. They guy wants a wireless mouse in his budget for gaming, doesn't have to be a gaming mouse. The IME3.0 isn't a gaming mouse, yet I know guys who swear by it. The mouse doesn't make you a better gamer, you gotta be a better gamer first and the mouse if just a tool to make things ever so slightly better. Even if he wants to get a Rapoo mouse for gaming, it would still be fine, it all comes down to the gamer at the end of the day.

If you had read some of my previous posts, you can see I'd already recommended a bunch of wired gaming mice to another guy. I'm at least sharing the expertise and experience I've had with gaming mice since way back when I first got my hands on the MX500. Let the guy try for himself and see how they suit his gaming style.
*
Firstly, the guy wanted a WIRELESS gaming mouse with RM100-200 budget. The ones you recommended is way over that budget, he just can't buy anything DECENT for the money.

Your example of IME3.0 is quite irrelevant. At that time of release of the IME3.0, not many companies label their mouse as gaming mouse. Then again, the re-released version of the IME3.0 IS LABELED as gaming mouse under their Microsoft.com/hardware website. The labeling of gaming mouse is just a gimmick. If you find the Anywhere mouse works good for you, I have no comments. But to me, 1000dpi and 125Mhz, and for that same kind of money, I'd get a DA or G500 anytime of the day, that simple.

You call MX500 way back? I go real wayback bro. Wayback in the ball mouse days. The WingMan / MouseMan era. And why do I even compare this? Argghhahaa.. guess it's just another free day at the office. biggrin.gif

No problem dude, you're allowed to say anything here man. Don't worry. But from my point of view, really there is no wireless mouse worth the call that can make me make the jump from wired to wireless.

QUOTE(SuperJunior @ Apr 11 2013, 10:30 AM)

The MX500 was the first mouse actually targeted at gamers by Logitech. And yes, I do go way back to the days of the first Razer Boomerang and then Diamondback. My first freaking mouse was a logitech 3 button. So I know my mice and having to remove ball, clean gunk, put back ball days.

The guy wanted a wireless mouse. G500 is a great buy anyway. Especially at the current bargain prices.
*
No. The Logitech WingMan mouse is the first. Go ahead, google it. ROFL!

I read a lot from the top mentioning that wireless gaming mouse is not suitable for gaming. Is it true?
Is it because of the respond time?
*
That's one of the factor, the other factors being the power consumption and price. For example, you can probably get 2 good WIRED gaming mouse for the price of one WIRELESS gaming mouse which probably won't offer you too much advantage or maybe worse performance over WIRED ones.

Plus, would you want to get a WIRED gaming mouse that you can game on as long as you want or having have to worry about the battery life of the WIRELESS one and charge it?

In terms of WIRELESS technology, I only trust the ones from Logitech. So we have an example here:

A good explanation by CharlesB, the Logitech forum moderator:

The G700 basically has the barest level of battery saving: It was designed for MINIMUM lag during gameplay, and battery saving induces lag. Our mice that last for weeks (or years!) on a battery have:

-Low power consumption sensors
-Wireless connections that go to sleep mode quickly
-Other sensors that go to sleep mode quickly
-Wireless connections that function at a fraction of the report rate

Same theory that goes out to all the WIRELESS gaming mouse out there.

Plus, in his explanation, he highlighted MINIMUM lag. Meaning, there's lag. Well, you get the point.

And lastly, one more factor to consider is the WEIGHT of the mouse. WIRELESS mouse tend to be heavier due to additional batteries weights, which can be a big turnoff for some gamers out there.

To M100 users out there, check out the link:
http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=183922

There are actually some SC2 gamers that actually recommend this mouse for gaming. I got this mouse from the MK200 and I myself find the shape really good to hold, it's pretty stable at sniping.

I'm loving this bang for buck mouse more than my DA. Oh my..

And further research on google shows that they actually uses Omron D2FC-F-7N switches. Anyone can confirm this? I don't want to open up mine since it's still brand new.

Well I'd say it's a gem. What do you think?
