They should actually considers styrofoam packing. The possibility of damage is minimized on this styrofoam packing. I believe the cost of styrofoan is cheaper than a plastic base and screws. Only is that manufacturer wants to distinguished their product line with such packing.

that's why I really dont like buying diecast nowadays. These bubbles are really annoying. I had one Minichamps E-Class and the bubbles really .....arrrggghh... the whole car deformed!! That is why I go for RESIN. Even though no open hoods or door, at least it has more stable value. On and off BBR sometimes comes up with open part resin...just like this coming 458. Sure I am gonna get it.

He's more on tunning and modifications (repaint/decalings/body kits) of 1:43 and 1:64. Definitely not from this thread category but he should have some respect on his skills.
