Hi, currently I'm using unifi 5mb in a link house with default dlink dir615 router.

At the moment, the internet is shared/consumed with my brother only (2 ppl). So the consumption & fair usage is acceptable.

Soon, we will rented out a room and unifi access is part of the rental.

Hence, i'm looking for a good router that has the capability of bandwidth balancing, instead of control by ip/mac address. Regardless how many device connected, everyone can have fair usage of the internet without one"eat" all the bandwidth n caused others unable to access internet.

Any recommendation?

p/s: also good coverage.

You may consider TP-Link Router TD-W8960N, or something similar from TP-Link that has IP QOS feature... hmm.gif

hmm thanks for your recommendation..i will looking into this model.

But i'm seeking something like QOS control in general, so the router will allocate fair amount of bandwidth to each user, so the entire network able to surf or download, instead of set ip one by one.

Maybe searching those router supported by DD-WRT?
DD-WRT support client bandwidth allocation.

You can view the demo here
http://www.dd-wrt.com/demo/

this is the qos page
http://www.dd-wrt.com/demo/QoS.asp

(note, not all router that support DD-WRT actually support QOS, see the supported device list
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

and the build features
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/What_...#Build_Features

edit: after checking the features, it seems all build support QoS.
