there is a burning smell coming out from my 8 year old ceiling fan, brand Elmark (?). thinking of changing it by myself. my question is can i change another brand ceiling fan only without touching the regulator? the regulator seems still working.

For sure you can change, just to make sure that Main Switch is off before you do so. smile.gif

Normally, ceiling fan with regulator is bundled together when u purchase. So why not just change both since it's new? Unless you wanted to change to remote control ceiling fan then you have to take out the regulator from the wall & dismantle the connected cable.
