QUOTE(DinKnight @ Jul 2 2012, 10:32 PM) I have always been skeptical but was willing to swallow my pride to buy an EB for the space and price factors alone, though I really, really value reliability above all else (which explains why my present and previous cars are japanese makes.) I thought after some time, the EB issues would iron out, but instead got worse. I think I'm going to Hasta La Vista EB and seek alternatives. Well. if you can afford other makes, why not?

QUOTE(neo1point3 @ Jul 18 2012, 08:11 PM) Maybe one of us can ask Honda city owner, city used to have wet clutch cvt too if im not mistaken, try ask them if they have similar issue like ours I have both City and EB. For City i had the engine shutdown while reversing or at low gear. For EB, it is in contrary, the engine died while idling, after several choking or hiccups. Turning off air-con temporarily solved it. For City, SC said maybe due to the CVT start clutch old already...

QUOTE(EBOLD @ Jan 5 2013, 11:53 AM) im guessing, he's right about the angle of the road. BUT, how come ALL the cars we drove previously didn't have this problem? i also have friends (civil engineer) and said, that angle should not be a problem. SCHEISSE! I had the same problem with mu EB and my father's Preve, so I did some googling. Seems not only Proton cars has this issue, almost all makes have their share. So probably we have to live with it.. Some latest search result.. http://www.avforums.com/forums/motoring/52...le-driving.htmlhttp://www.hondaaccordforum.com/forum/susp...-aligned-31053/http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/ind...howtopic=122138

QUOTE(jemmi @ Jan 6 2013, 10:35 AM) I solve the problem by changing/trade-in all the rim with Enkei & new tyre, until now (nearly six months) look like alignment still accurate. We know how unreliable quality of the Proton car, may be the engineer there still in learning process. 25+ years not enough time to them to learn, may be there need another 25 years. May be after 25 years later there will produce quality car like Hyundai/Kia now. That time Hyundai/Kia already like Lexus/Brabus quality. I am in the manufacturing industry. I believe the problem with Proton may be of the knowledge retention due to high employee turn over rate. Many engineers will jump to other companies if they think their salary is not enough. Is almost same elsewhere in Malaysia. In Japan / Korea, almost all peeps are employed for life, and rarely jump to other companies, that is why they can maintain and improve the skill & knowledge within the company. Remuneration of the employees is that important. We could not expect a 3 years experience will be the same as of 10 years...

QUOTE(jemmi @ Jan 7 2013, 09:26 AM) Proton supposed already found the solution for this matter for future planning/forecast, for example they should used Lotus(if still under Proton) as their QC reference/solution. Like Lexus for Toyota or Brabus for Merc. Hopefully Proton will improve under Hicom. For technology, yes, they can use Lotus, or as recently Honda thru strategic partnership. For QC/QA, the base quality management system for all automotive industry should be the same (ISO/TS16949, VDA, APQP, PPAP etc). It comes to the actual people who is performing it, e.g Product & QA engineers, QC inspectors, QA inspectors. These are the main assets of Proton that they need to take care of as these guys are the core resource that will improve the build quality of their cars.

QUOTE(brotan @ Jan 7 2013, 09:41 PM) just went to proton service centre for 5000km service + fix a few issues the car jacking during reverse and slow motion driving they said solved by updating the software for the engine and gear Not to say 100% solved, but the jerking is very-very much less, and no more misfire or engine sudden death

QUOTE(nacier5 @ Jan 8 2013, 09:00 AM) volfeed, what about cold start, do u face difficulties to start in the morning Nope, none at all. The previously notorious "cracking" noise at cold start was solved with replacing OWV (one way valve).
