Recd my exora bold e/brown 4  July. Here is my initial review:

Surprised:
The engine is quieter and more refined than all the 3 units of exora bold i test drove back in Jan - Feb 12. The test units feel and sound rough and unrefined, just like my gen2 campro.

Interior/Exterior:
1.the quality of the stalk switches (light/wiper), aircond vents, up to Japanese standard. The rest , although not flimsy , has thin plastic material/cheap feel.
2.The front seats too small. My thighs (also almost turbo thighs myself) seem to be on the seat thigh support rather than within it.
3.One thing that I realise which was not mentioned before in this thread, the door metal is really thin. I was installing those aftermarket side moulding and used my knee to press to ensure good adhesion, lets say my knees went numb when I noticed how much the door sheet metal sunk in.

Confirmed with what was mentioned in this thread:
Con:
1. humming sound fr CVT when driving below 60km/h, I guess its a 'feature' we will have to live with
2. 'grrr' sound when going over bad potholes although not always.
3. lethargic pickup when driving in traffic jam/stop start ,coupled with the humm frm CVT. Its feels like as if one is
moving off fr 2nd gear, with 1st gear MIA.

Pro:
1. suspension is quiet and omfortable
2.Pick up from standstill, and low to medium very good, which makes all the weaknesses , quickly forgiveable. You will be hooked to your Exora on this alone.

the SA said the italic ones can be tweaked to give instant power. just have to ask them to do it when go for service

Agree with you ... but I still do not notice the Grrrrr sound going over pot-hole, just a solid "bummm" which is expected. Need to hunt for more pot hole smile.gif

I also feel something wrong with the front seat, my leg feel tired after long driving but still cannot figure out wheter it is really my leg getting old or something not right with the seat. I suspect the front support is higher than normal even if I adjust to the lowest, it could have been pressing my thigh limiting the blood circulation thus causing leg fatique.

Done my first service yesterday. Well as expected the SC did not aware of the rattling sound at the rear side even after few turns sweat.gif I understood well they are not up to my expectation to answer my queries. But still the rattling sound is there if you hit a hole, not sure with others. Overall i'm satisfied but still did not use the SAT function yet sweat.gif

reading the Manual, one should use SAT if they don't like the smoothness of the CVT.
SAT should emulate the 6 SPEED AT so you can feel the gear change.

Maybe you can try recording the rattling sound and playback to the SC.

Can. How?:
1. Use no air cond 80% of the time biggrin.gif
2. Manual transmission, free gear whenever nearing stop or going down hill (not steep hill like genting/cameron of course)
3. Avoid unnecessary pressing on the brakes by keeping a balance distance with the car in front. When car in front brake, release throttle pedal. I seldom need to press my brake if the car in front press their brake for about less than 2 seconds. If they brake > 2 seconds, I will ready myself to press my brake once I get too close
4. No sudden acceleration from idle. Need to be very disciplined. Accelerate slooowwly. Used to press the pedal a lot when I was driving my work horse Iswara.
5. Drive in JB biggrin.gif Can't get this fc when I was living in KL. JB driving is more relaxed. smile.gif Normally I maintain 80 to 90km/h on highway driving around JB. My car gives the best fc if I can maintain 3,000 rpm (80km/h) and below. Again, JB is relatively small compared to KL. 80km/h is fast enough to get you to your destination in a reasonable time.
6. As everyone knows, maintain a balance tire pressure

Not sure whether the fully synthetic oil and michelin tires plays a big part. I feel it does help in fc. I also send to authorized SC 100% of the time. It helps that my current company pays for my car's maintenance biggrin.gif

Not expecting to get this fc when I buy an EB. Not an expert, just don't think a CVT can match manual transmission in terms of fc. I may be wrong. Just my 5 sen.
