your VR4 should be setting out, with correct calibrated AFR you should get quite high mileage with it. EB CFE RM90 about 550-600km if not mistaken

it's the recent model, standard cfe pricing at rm69k max.
fabric seats, with alot of accessories like reverse camera removed.
not bad, saw it today.

now i am divided into these two choices:

rm69k, standard cvt+cfe exora
http://proton-edar.com.my/Experience/Model...s-(4).aspx#info

rm80k, premium cvt+cfe exora BOLD
http://proton-edar.com.my/Experience/Model...s-(2).aspx#info

what your guys choice?
that 11k difference can mod alot thing.
*
Take the 69k Standard CFE....

The diff not much... 11k extra Bold has;

DVD HU with external roof LCD (RM2k can do better than this)
Fog Lamp (RM120 at mudah)
Sports Rim (Trade in 16" Steelies and top up max RM1k can get super nice rim with good tyre)
Spoiler (RM120 with paint / ABS OEM material)
Fog Lamp switch at dash Board (RM180 at mudah)
Leather Seats
and more colour choice

RM3420 U can become premium Bold hahaha and with the balance of RM7580 of 11k after spending u can still mod lotsa stuff.

i'm more inclined to this 69k after comparing it yesternite. but tempering with the wiring will void the electrical warranty - for fog lamp installment. as well as the rim.

the other...dvd, spoiler, leather seats...yeah can do anytime and save huge chunk of $$$$.

i now imaging alot of modded exora cfe speeding on road soon...
*
the warranty wont void if u install correctly... the original PRIME head unit is rm1200 plug n play and wont void the car warranty, spoiler andfog lamp wont void warranty.

There is no such thing as reflash for CFE engine... it has been confirm over their website. it is just reset settings and relearn throttlebody

nice, at least proton is listening... People keep calling it reflashing hahahaha... i also thought they actually re-flash the ecu... hehehhe blush.gif
*
It is not easy to reflash, and actually they had the tools to reflash (Proton RnD group had it) but it is pointless to reflash back the same mapping. what can you improve the mapping? only 2 things i can see.... AFR basically maintain safe not too rich and not too lean, Ignition settings (which is the most important) others than that only left is BOOST IT HIGHER lols....

can... no problem as all stuff is plug n play....

Proton policy says "as long as the original parts can put back without need to rework"

Sifu Steven, I got question lar. If we reset setting and throttle body, possible to let it adapt to our driving style?  hmm.gif
*
actually there is no adaptation of driving style or vice versa, all is just a fairy tales. The car normally will just learn the idling steps and AFR close loop learning to gain more efficiency. Auto tranny will also not learn the driving style but it will learn and auto program total load traction system.

What is open loop or close loop? not shoo Bee Da Loop...
Open Loop and Closed Loop are two terms used to describe the fueling mode the computer is in.

In closed loop fueling, the computer takes readings from the oxygen sensors which read +/- of 14.64 AFR (Stoich) and makes corrections for it. If your car is idling @ 13.5 AFR, the 02s can see this, and will know to pull out enough fuel to get back to stoich.

In open loop, the fueling is purely based off the MAP/MAF transfer function and the open loop fuel table. This table has to be calibrated any time you make MAP/MAF changes, and changes that affect the airflow/pressure of the MAP/MAF.

When a car is started, the computer is in open loop until certain criteria is met. The o2 sensors need to be heated to work properly, so this is the main reason there is a delay.

After the sensors are heated up, the car goes into closed loop and the O2 sensors make their corrections.

The computer will go back into open loop under a variety of conditions. Throttle Position (TP) is one way.

There are parameters in the computer that determine what the TP is for Open Loop, and other things.

When that TP is reached, and the car goes open loop, and richens up.

good infos on technical thing, steven...

Thaks.... but also i wanna to let u guy knows that if you remove your car thermostat it is also bad because when the temp reach below 85c it will goes to warm up mapping... depends... certain car is below 75c.

How Thermostat function;

Any liquid-cooled car engine has a small device called the thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat in most cars is about 5 cm in diameter. Its job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature 95c, the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions.
If you ever have the chance to test one, a thermostat is an amazing thing to watch because what they do seems impossible. You can put one in a pot of boiling water must be on the stove. As it heats up, its valve opens about an inch, apparently by magic! (petaling street magic) If you'd like to try this yourself, go to any halfcut shop and get 1 or remove it from your car.
The secret of the thermostat lies in the small cylinder located on the engine-side of the device. This cylinder is filled with a wax that begins to melt at perhaps 80c (different thermostats open at different temperatures, but 82c is a common temperature). A rod connected to the valve presses into this wax. When the wax melts, it expands significantly and pushes the rod out of the cylinder, opening the valve. Smart design eh!

Here is some sample on engine ecu mappings, there is open loop parameters, high and low octane fuel maps and ignition maps... so dont need to waste your money to fuel V-power or anything just to gain tiny effects.

No Problem, as we should share all this information to reduce hoax or misleading information.

I have even seen the best part, Proton SC just clears one of the Preve diagnostic codes and the owner claims that it had been reflashed and the power gain at least 25%...

The process of reflash is unique and it is not plug and play. The most common reflash i have seen is inspira because inspira is easy to reflash and alter the map settings however to custom a rom will kill a lot of brain cells. Now i have retired doing reflashing... let the memories become history and someday might become a fairy tales.
