i broke my ipad when i put it below my pillow. so sad.

how much u think the cost to repair the screen? i think it only broke on the inside, coz outside is ok, nothing like a broken glass or something. here's the picture of it.

go to apple service center. show them about this issue and tell them the warranty is over. if you're lucky they might replace the whole unit with minimum charge since it looked much more like hardware failure than accidental damage. they might even offer to let you upgrade to iPad 2/3 for minimum fee too.

heard from authorized service centre ppl said if external damage, under warranty period too also not cover~

you my double check at the user manual there in your ipad box, there is written the R&R under warranty. if im not mistaken.
