in synthetic benchmark, s3 score higher than h1x. not sure in real life usage, probably won't feel it much as both are really speedy phones.

if u r brave enuff, shld have reprimanded him there and then. or complain to his boss.

decided to get the s3 first while waiting for htc to solve quality issues with the 1x.
besides, the earlier zerg rush had died out.
makes more sense to get it now since not intending to sign plan or forced into buying accessories.


arnd 10:30 am after taking bfast at coffee bean, strolled over to the mv blue cube outlet next to kenny rogers.
found out from the pak cik thr got abt 20 sets of pebble blue s3 selling at 2199.

no crowd, quite relaxed atmosphere...ok, so let's do this.

while waiting for pak cik and a young lcly chinese chap attending their customer, got one sorhai rushed in.
his face looked like he found God after they told him got stock and it was pebble blue.
then he told a story abt how he rushed from celcom jln ampang, pavillion and capsquare before coming over here.
afterwds he sat down exhausted and played with the demo set.

was too polite to laugh at this guy.but in my heart was laughing at him.
well, tbph even the pak cik also shaked his head a bit.

when it was my turn, pak cik took out a new box, checked the phone together with me.
he even know the screen test code.

chatted a bit with him...asked him abt the sales of s3,
"biasalah, benda baru. banyak org tengok, tak ramai yg beli. stok pun banyak"
"apa mau buat, free gift pun takde".

then i asked him whether he bought one...

"takde, tunggu iphone five"

asked me to go sep for accessories.

anyway, everythg seems ok, so cabut and test out the phone for normal usage.

initial impressions:

essentially it looks more like a beast than a beauty.

phone is huge.but good grip.
display is clear and good. but not excellent like h1x.

and finally, android have landed. although it took them a few years (4 generations) and quad core to achieve lag-free experience.

u shld buy and keep the receipt.
then make complain to celcom hq, samsung and newspapers.
surely they will jelly.

all along, my plan is to get s3, play arnd and most likely then sell the thg off.
atm, still very much prefer h1x. but let's see.

read the manual. or google for it.
youtube got many videos on it.

do a search in this forum. mentioned many times ady
dun expect to be tongkat-ed.

which blue cube? show picture.

glad that u remembered my words. as u can see, KuLi is very consistent and steady.
says what she does and do what she says.



additional impression

as expected, the huge screen size makes one-handed operation cumbersome. cannot stretch thumb diagonally corner.

feels the phone may drop if use one hand. better maintain 2 hands.

ur loss is unfortunate. but u wasted no time to get the next premium device.

btw, is there a way to trace lost or stolen samsungs, like apple's Find my iPhone?

nope, its quite plain. white also abt the same.
but with the pebble blue, smudges can be seen clearly.

after few hours using s3, really missed my ip4s.
so now no choice but to sell it.

here are my thoughts.

1) the most smooth android phone that i had used. after 4 to 5 years and with quad-core, android can finally match iphone in smoothness.

2) screen is big and bright but not suitable for me.
always end up accidentally touching the side power buttons and volume buttons.
hand become tired after holding a while.

3) nice ringtone collections especially Over the Horizon and mother nature.

4) s voice is not really functional. prefer siri where it can read out the message. but s voice can turn on/off gps, bluetooth, etc. quite ok.

to be continued...tired.

for ppl who does not treat phone as a hobby. iphone is simple and just works.

but if u r a nerd/geek who likes to play phone, then this is a good choice.

some unkers, like benny from batu, wld really climax with s3.
