Well.. reading the comment itself is already able to justify why companies prefer hiring non-singaporean. Singaporean are full of grudges (not all of them of course) and more demanding. Constant complain of high cost of living and low salary (or so they say), and accusing companies of short changing them etc.
They cannot blame companies for hiring foreigners as they are less demanding and willing to take up more responsibilities. Just at lunch my CFO mentioned he preferred hiring Msians as we are less calculative and able to deliver.
So, if you are sitting at the management table, would you hire a highly qualified person who are extremely calculative with workhours and job scope or a less calculative ones but degree from a second tier university?
When I conduct interview, I notice Singaporean fresh graduate are very ambitious and arrogant, they do not want to do mundane job or data entries, whereas PRs are willing to do everything, so guess who I hire?
I dont like employers who take advantage of their workers. Like exploiting Malaysian to work harder than locals and complain less. This is unfair. They cannot blame companies for hiring foreigners as they are less demanding and willing to take up more responsibilities.
