Different tax rates apply for tax residents and non-residents. You will be treated as a tax resident for a particular Year of Assessment (YA) if you are a:
Foreigner who stayed/worked in Singapore for 183 days or more in previous year (excludes director of a company).
SOS

So lets start i start my employment in July 2012, so I work for less than 183 days in Singapore during year 2012.
Does that mean I have to pay 15%(non-resident of Singapore for tax purposes) during year 2013? cry.gif

Yes, but you can request for re-assessment once you've worked longer in Singapore. Not sure details, link here: http://www.iras.gov.sg/irasHome/page04_ektid8958.aspx

Balance use to offset the next year tax then no need refund smile.gif. SG don't practise PCB (monthly deduction) but you can apply for tax payment by installment for the previous year tax (ie tax for 2011 to be paid in 2012 by installment ).

All right..Thanks rclxms.gif

Anybody know where can I find photo taking facility nearest to Work Pass Services Centre (WPSC) at Tanjong Pagar Complex on a Saturday?

Roughly what time I should be there(WPSC) to avoid the crowd on a Saturday?

appointment is only needed for EPSC (Employment pass holders). if you go to WPSC (means S pass and WP), no appointent is needed.

photo taking is available there. plenty of shops. i would advice you to do it there because the shops there can make surethe photo is correct.

and if you are applying WP, go there super early, queue is super long

for s pass. its ok. wont take more than 2 hours for whole process.

The whole process was not longer than 30mins today for S pass smile.gif
