QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jun 13 2012, 09:46 PM) in malaysia starting for audit also around 2500 , mid-tier in SG should be paying around S$2.3k-2.4k for a fresh graduate. big 4 10-20% more whereas small firm 10-20% lesser.in singapore also around that, why not go there . imo lah. and their foods are quite cheap , just rental a little bit exp . |

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jun 13 2012, 10:34 PM) thanks bro, yes. i'm in audit but only small firm. didnt manage to join big firm. pressured by high inflation across the country, SGD will appreciate again RM provided that RM remains stagnant.you are in audit line also ? . the high conversion rate influence me the most to go to sg , at here big4 pay 2.8 i guess , ch pay 2.8 ( sis in there) , grand thorton pay 2.7 (friend in there) |

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Jul 8 2012, 10:36 AM) Hi all Sifus, undoubtedly, it's Employment Pass (EP). minimum salary is S$3k instead of S$2K for S-pass. there's no such thing as getting PR easily anymore unless you're in SG for quite some time and possess right qualification.Recently confused by my friend, Actually which Pass is better EPass or SPass? my friend keep argue that SPass is better, and you can apply for PR easily, for a fresh grad, which Pass shud they aim for?(i know which pass applied is depend on company, but no harm asking for better pass). QUOTE(davidbilly87 @ Jul 9 2012, 11:01 PM) My friend qualification same with me, just salary different , 1.8k + Bachelor Degree Information system engineering (Campbell U) qualification aside, the industry you work in is also another important factor. i'm also on EP but earning lesser than you. typical audit line whereby majority Singaporean is not interested in especially in SME firm. if MOM doesnt relax their requirement on it, these firms will have a hard time getting people to join them since they can never pay EP salary.I knwo SP is min 2k , EP is min 3k , but he told me is EP , i also wonder |

SG semi-con is cloudy. SG's GDP is dragged by semi-con, projecting negative growth. having said so, those OEM like Western digital, Seagate and etc can be considered as well.

QUOTE(totti 10 @ Aug 12 2012, 10:45 PM) only 1st generation of PR is exempted from NS. that means you obtain PR all by yourself. son of a PR is considered 2nd generation as it's sponsored by his parents and therefore must be serve NS. |

QUOTE(stupid434 @ Aug 15 2012, 10:50 PM) hi guys, I went to an audit assistant interview today at a small/mid audit firm. S Pass is still being issued. the concern is the quota your employers are facing. they need 5 singaporean staff to employer 1 S pass holder. having said so, audit firm is pretty easy to get Employer Pass (EP) which doesnt set quota even at S$2K range. i dont understand why your employer tends to go as low as Work permit. And the employer said he can offer me $2k. But the problem is, now is getting harder and harder to apply S pass. He said my case most likely will be work permit. But i did the self assessment in MOM websites for employment/ S pass, The result shows that "Based on the information you have provided, the individual is likely to qualify for both Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass." So i would like to know whether I am able to apply S pass successfully? Actually I am graduated from SIM and study ACCA in Kaplan Singapore. And, is it true that the S pass is not issuing anymore? |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 16 2012, 01:07 PM) like mackiddo said, WP is the lowest pass in SG - normally used for unskilled workers. Many/most WP holders not even allowed to get pregnant or marry PR/Singaporeans or they get deported and their permit cancelled - shows you how much SG wants you here long term. the best part of a WP holder is not having to pay tax but it turns out to be a hindrance as well for PR application since they dont contribute to nation building. |

QUOTE(bLuE^dEv|L @ Aug 16 2012, 02:50 PM) haha, i do believe is my luck, bad luck.. my housemate and I joined 1 of the shipyard in sg in apr-2011, i left & joined another small scale mnc in dec-2011. He applied for PR in dec-2011 & approved on Feb this year; while I failed. changing job within a short time frame will affect your rate of success too. in addition, stringent rules this year justifies why yours is rejected. |

QUOTE(underGr0und_8 @ Aug 18 2012, 08:58 AM) Company size do affect the success rate. Looking at the Form 4A, need your company input regarding their capital and annual revenue etcetc (correct me if i am wrong). is it a must to submit form 4A? if that is the case, that implies employer's consent is required since we need them to fill in their capital and revenue but it doesnt mean our application is sponsored by the employer. i thought we can apply PR on our own? |

QUOTE(tailtwist @ Aug 18 2012, 11:48 AM) The reality is that the Singapore PR is more like a working PR....then means lets say your PR is valid for 5 years....then towards the 3rd or 4th year...if you intended to get your Re-entry Permit(REP) renewed...then you should be working back in SG...otherwise they'll probably NOT renew your REP.... that's not what i meant. i will be working in SG for long-term. therefore, the issues you pointed are not what i concern. To me NOT renewing the REP is similar like not getting your PRship being 'renewed'..because once your REP expires and you travel OUT of singapore..you will lose your PR when you re-enter back into Singapore. OF COURSE Unless one can opt to NOT TRAVEL anywhere OUTSIDE of SG...not even JB/Batam and etc!!! in fact, my employer intends to bond me just to get them fill in the Form 4A. so, i'm thinking to apply without going through them. is it possible? |
