Guys, wanna ask how much can you save every month if you're staying in SG but going to KL almost every week or sometimes. How much % can you save?
*
if you are earning S$10k/month then i guess it wouldn't have much of an impact on you even if you fly back every week.

trains take 'forever' to reach ! The only way I would take it, if it's the nite ride, their 1st class special is quite comfy, with shower room included thumbup.gif

If I do mountainback cycling, hill climbing, ATV, wall climbing, sailing, skydiving, drifting.. So which part of sg provide cheaper cost and variety compare to nearby KL (compare to RM-SG as I hv easy access to KL)?
*
for the 8 hours journeys and cost travelling to and back from KL, I already would have earn enough to cover the difference. judging from your questions it's very obvious you have very few friend(s) here. oh, and most of us normally go back just to hangout with our family members.

hi all, need to be at Sg Marina Mandarin in formal attire on a Sunday morning around 8am from KL.

googled around and thought of this 2 methods,

1. Take the 11pm KTMB from KL Sentral which will arrive at Woodland around 6.30am, then MRT to Explanade/Promanade.

2. Drive and park at JB custom(there got parking right?), take the bus over the bridge to Kranji, take the MRT to Explanade/Promanade.

any better way? midnight express bus? thanks smile.gif
*
1. take night Express Bus to Sg, alight Woodlands. Take bus to Kranji MRT. Kranji MRT to destination thumbup.gif
2. drive all the way to Sg (weekend no VEP). Park car at Sg (Woodlands/Chua Chu Kang ? a lot of free HDB parking on Sunday). Take MRT to destination

EPF is also regularly called upon to do national service. IMHO, it's already technically bankrupt and is running on cashflow fumes (ie. still operating only because deposits > withdrawals). The only reason why I'm not worried about my EPF money, is because I'll withdraw it before most of you guys. At some point in the future... the music stops and anyone's who's still on the dance floor is screwed.
*
i think that's quite true. It's bankrupt, the only thing that is preventing it from going under is the amount of being contribute > the amount being withdraw. Heard there's an awful lot of 'pain-in-the-ass' rules and regulations when you wanna withdraw EFP $.

FYI, Sean, i'm much better. No EPF account also. tongue.gif

I never drive all the way into Sg b4, anything I need to prepare b4 doing so? I heard they have some kind of machine that deduct prepaid toll money..
*
Sg road are pretty easy to navigates, link by few major expressways.

You just need to buy an Autopass card (S$10 with S$6 value ?) upon entry into Sg, near the Immigration Building itself. I don't think you gonna use much of the $6, other than the toll (>S$2) for exiting Sg via the old causeway. Once in Sg, find a HDB parking which is free (tons of it around) for Sunday to park your car.

really depends on individual but guess rule of thumb is at least 10% increase in annual increment with the same kind of benefits ?

I think the thing that auto deduct toll money should be ERP ?? hmm.gif
*
Majorities of foreign register vehicle do not have I.U. Unit unless you go install one. So how to auto deduct ERP ?
Normally for foreign cars is to pay a flat rate of S$5/day for unlimited ERP entry for the day, to be deducted from autopass card when leaving Sg

think there is no express bus that departs after midnight. Latest i think is 11.30pm/12am ? Should reached Sg by 4am/5am. Can lepak at Woodlands food court have coffee before bus service 170 starts operation (at 5.30am ?) to ferry you to Kranji MRT

yeah. There is no ERP gantry from Immigation to Marsiling/Woodlands/Kranji area.

thanks alot for the info on the VEP, you're really helpful, the HDB parking should be easy to find right? looking from google map I can't locate it but I'm guessing there should be one just beside Marsiling, Woodlands, or Kranji MRT station.

*
remember to look for the sign that says ' free parking on Sunday'

get one of your friends / family who's working in a bigger company to sign up a plan on your behalf.

just to share, my company's iphone plan is $38/mth for 2 years, 500sms 12gb data 500minutes/mth, $0 down for the 32gb iP4S. If you calculate that, you pay $912 over 2 years which is $176 less than what you would pay for the phone retail from apple store.

too bad 3 phone quota/staff used up liao tongue.gif
*
mine more simple. 2 years contract. 50% discount/month from whatever plan you get from the market and mobile phone price is -S$150 from whatever price you pay for the mobile phone that tied to that plan. Data stays at 7.2mbps 12GB/month (free) or S$7 for 1mbps 50GB/month. Max 3 lines.

Yes.

Male children who take up permanent residency status through their permanent resident parent's sponsorship will be required to serve National Service like other Singaporean males.
