Hi everyone,

I'm looking for this fish but the last fish shop I went which was in USJ Subang area don't seem to sell this anymore. It's a waste because this fish is super interesting to have. I used to have 5 corydoras trilineatus and 4 albino cories.

Unfortunately 2 trili and 3 albino died because of their fondness of going behind the filter pump and getting stuck behind there.

I wanna know where can I buy this fish, hugely fond of them as they have their own unique character. Anyone have any idea which shop sells them??

They are quite common, is only depending on the stock, sometimes they are just not in season. The longest I ever kept is 3 years old.

I have 3 bronze corydoras that I have kept for almost 2 years. Started off with 4 but one died a few months ago for no reason. They sometimes lay eggs on the tank wall.
I'm giving them away as I'm quitting the hobby. I'm from Damansara. PM me if you're interested icon_rolleyes.gif

Thank you all for the replies biggrin.gif ! But I'm afraid to mix the bronze with those 2 species, can they get along? I read they only prefer their own kind. Any shop in Subang area sells this fishes? Seems like it isn't easy to get them. Does Mid Valley sells them? If yes I'll go buy from there.

even if they don't get along they'll just ignore each other. They're a very peaceful species.

Had a few hundred of different species of this fish

Love C.duplicareus and C.sychri
Also had C.oiapoquensis and the neon Gold Aeneus

They are quite hard to keep "IF" u have other fast moving fishes in your tank...
if u keep them in a tank filled with their own species, they can do very well...
do make sure they have enough food

Feed often is one thing...food reaching the fish is a different thing...
I have 4 Sterbai now and are housed with tetras and 3 angels...
And all i can say is that the corys dun get there on time to eat before all food are eaten...
So i have to drop some extra food for them when the light is out and hope that they find it before the rest do...

just want to inform that all my albino cordy has gone R.I.P....they were happily ever after in the goldfish tank then i move them to a community tank then within 4 days (when we went for holiday with the kids - i got food timer etc for all tank)

accidently seen it was attacked by my vicious Nothobranchius Guentheri (killifish)......but weird thing the Gue didnt attack any tetra or Dino Zebra etc or even guppy.....maybe because they all are fast swimmer.....

OK heres the potential problem...

It may not have acclimatise themselves in time before u went on holiday

How long have u had them...and most important question...did u ever witness them eating and consuming the food ?
They are sand sifters so some foods that go in their mouth and if they dun like it, they will eject it out through their gills...
So the food may go in the mouth but not necessary they eat it.

And in a goldfish tank...i dun think there are any food for them to eat...goldfish pellets are floaters and corys are bottom feeding fishes...so there is technically no way i can think of that the corys can get any food...
They need constant food...but if u dun feed for 2-3 days, they can still take it.
Wat i am afraid happened here is that they did not have enough food when they are in the goldfish tank.
They can last a week or two without food by the way...
so now when u put them into the community tank, i guess they just ran out of gas and puff out...

Nothobranchius are only vicious to own males and they are attacking the corys because...they are opportunistic feeders and the cory is a slow target...the max damage they can do is fin nip it and stress the cory out...nothing more
corys are armoured catfish and are well defended...so from a notho attack... rclxms.gif good luck for the notho jawbone lor

Well, corys prefer to live in a school...if u get like 10 pcs of cory, they be more than happy

And ar...dun feed algae tablets only...cory are not supposed to be vegans...u can try those sinking tablets from sera which u can stick to the glass...they go bonkers over that food flex.gif cory feeding frenzy thumbup.gif or a cory ball

i have them for weeks plus i think in that GF tank before i decide to move them to community tank and yes i feed them with tetra sinking tablet (i normally feed them by dropping here and there and switch off the light if not all will be wallop by the goldfish)....

i think the community tank is overpopulated thats why.....and in the food timer i mix tetra food with some sinking and floating pellets...maybe i didnt have correct ratio hehe........unless i bought 2 more times but then my aquarium look ugly ! hehehe

U sure u bought those tablets ar ?
i can recall those very expensive wan wor...
but they do smell good...

Ok...as long as goldfish is involved, i betcha the corys were starving...
definitely confirmed...even with lights off...they can find the food...goldfish brains = stomach

Ok...biggest Corydoras as in same species name, look for zygatus or rabauti... chances are u will find zygatus to be more common here
Had a few.
As in related species to Corydoras, then it wud be the Scleromystax barbatus...super rare and dies like flies...don't bother buying if u can't keep common corys alive...
And one of the same genus...Hoplosternum species...
also rare

Corydoras can be found in any LFS, they were so peaceful. I have a Panda Cory myself and he/she lives with the same tank as my Betta, he is so cute. However i find Corydoras Sterbai is the most gorgeous species. It is said that in a community tank you should keep at least 6 of them mixing with other kinda fish.

wow thanks for the feedbacks, I have bought 10 cory's recently cause previous one all died -.- n now only 8 survived. They are very good with the sucker fish, plenty of food to go around as I make sure they get to om nom nom the food i toss into the aquarium. Have 1 angel fish , planning to get 2 more angel fishes, my aquarium is really awkward with the varieties of fishes combined biggrin.gif.
