For deep scratches, I don't think either will be able to mask nicely. Also depends on the base colour beneath the white/blue exterior.
*
i try scratching the back cover with my finger nails. i don't think its easily scratched, the glossy coating does help a bit. but of course if rougher surface or sharper objects its not gonna help

roadshow at lowyat by digi selling RM 159
screen protector RM 69, speechless doh.gif
*
better go find in shopping mall or any place... got nino initial jacket which is TPU include clear screen protector for only RM50... becos shortage of screen protector n case, they will hike up the price... since ppl would pay rm2k++ for a phone then the seller will assume they will buy a cover for rm100++

just received early birthday present from my gf... the sgs3! biggrin.gif

first impressions:
- it fast. faster than 1.5 months old hox
- looks better than in picture
- somehow when i put side my side with my hox, the hox looks nicer now than before.
- video playback: sgs3 smoother, hox quality nicer
- honestly, I dont really impress with it, and it's hard to say that it's better than hox.

i've run into few issues so far:
- video player keeps on hanging. need to close it, then open video from gallery instead
- the sound effect at locking screen only works one time after phone reboot.

you need to enable it in options. if its disabled in options, it will only work one time after reboot

give it a few days and see whether you prefer it or HOX. there's other factors to consider as well, like battery life

@Zeneticx I can't believe rooting for sgs3 is so darn simple...wei, you should get it rooted. hahahaha!

my only concern is that it will void warranty since there is a built in flash counter. =.='

no haven't root, but did research dee. it's noob proof.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684535

Just make sure you have the drivers, then follow the steps, it's like jailbreaking iphone. Click and root. No need so much hassle of going to command prompt and type this and that like rooting hox.

too easy.

I just got the phone today, need to make sure everything is ok before rooting.

Hey Bro,

How do you register your warranty ?
If registered, how to check the warranty status?
I fax my SGS3 details to a guy where I got him via the samsung help line, but no reply yet.

To those sifu who have flashed custom rom (omega rom to be specific), help needed. Will appreciate if you guys can clear my confusion.

according to the instructions given here
To root your phone you need to run odin3-v1.85

However when flashing custom rom/omega rom,
the instructions given is slightly different.
"install CWM Recovery with Odin v3.04 "
Source

Question is does the different version of odin files matters? Will it cause the phone to unable to flash the rom?
Can i use the latter version v3.04 to root my sgs3 in the first place?

thanks bro! well i got mine on thursday actually. battery life has been good for me with HOX but yes, SGS3 has better battery life. today full day (both unplugged at 9am yesterday, till 1.30am today), hox left 25% while sgs3 still has 33%.

both phones has pros n cons. it's too early to compare s3 and hox, given that s3 just born 2 days ago tongue.gif
what i know is now i have okta core in my pockets! tongue.gif
