I think bout upgrading my DA to Taipan, should I !?
*
well, one thing good about the taipan is razer finally at long last ditched the philips sensors and gone back to using adns for the taipan.
more specifically the latest adns-9800, and if its anything like the adns-9500 then lots are going to like it...which means u wont be able to get ur hands on one for awhile tongue.gif

Hmmm.... Seem like Taipan is not comfort as Xai or Sensei with that shape...
*
xai or sensei also not so comfortable...keep slipping with my claw grip.
btw, sides of taipan is real rubber...not some thin rubber coating like before.

On another topic,
Those who got Taipan, can somebody give comment about the mouse feet??.
I read some review from the net saying the mouse feet is extremely thin..... sad.gif  THx
*
which review said that?
i dont see or feel any difference compared to my DA 3.5g.
taipan glides on my goliathus just fine.

How about the top surface? Heard that it is not the rubberized surface. Is it like texture surface like DA BE or something different?
*
DA BE top is still some very thin rubber like coating on it.
taipan is textured plastic.
can hear the difference when u try to scratch it.
and the taipan grips better everywhere, from the textured plastic to the real rubber sides.

From few of your post, can see Taipan quite satisfy you.

Yea, BWUS is only can get from razer official website, I think Taipan reach most of the reseller or very soon.
*
taipan could be better.
but among the ambidextrous mouses in the market now, feel wise the taipan is definitely at the top.

its also USD50 more than the taipan, so you're looking at a price of around RM430...
but to me its just a taipan with extended butt and diff side panels...
for general 'asian' hands, taipan good enough already tongue.gif

or you can call it the ergonomic version of the mamba, but with better sensor? hmm.

for me, i'm not bothered paying that much extra just essentially for the wireless option which i will never use.

am I the only one think the ouroboros looks A LOT like Cyborg R.A.T 7?

Btw the good point for Ouroboros is they have additional side buttons at right side. (But R.A.T 7 got precision aim button!)
*
its influenced by the rat.

and precision aim = dpi clutch.
i would think its already properly explained for both mouses that even tho its diff names its the same thing.

This is something like combination of RAT and Razer Mamba. Good thing i get to know this new mouse is that they start to apply akaline battery instead of their own battery cell. So if battery is getting old and discharged, still can use the battery again.

Once thing i don't like the mouse is that their surface is still using the same material that Razer mamba has right? And I hope that there is no issue for the docking, as after you use it for a year or so, your dock will have those scratch that cause by sliding the mouse.
*
if the razer rat is nything like the taipan, then the surface is very textured plastic...no more rubber coating anywhere.

Ayam using DA BE now...so far so great.

laugh.gif

IMO Taipan more suited for Claw Grip.
*
thought u said tayar grip?

i been clawing with my DA BE, but i added some tape to the right side to grip it easier so it wont slip.
i did that with my SS Xai also cos its one slippery sob...taipan no need to do tongue.gif

So you like me saying tayar grip?  tongue.gif

What tape you add? And how you put it?
*
my xai was using SS grip tape specially made for xai...see even SS themselves knew the xai is a slippery sob.
my DA i just use some gaffer tape cut up and usually used for camera stuff.

u only probably need to worry about dust if ur window always open and u hardly use ur mouse...so if u use often then not much to worry about.

QUOTE(sixshot @ Aug 12 2012, 05:34 PM)
i used synapse previously, every time i started my PC and enter windows, the mouse cursor will freeze a few seconds before moving again to load the apps. its quite annoying as it happened every time i switch on the PC.

so i uninstalled it and just use the normal driver for my DA. no more cursor freeze during start up.  sweat.gif

by the way, using synapse i could adjust my DPI to any numbers i want, but using normal driver, it is preset to 4 setting only? 450dpi, 900dpi, 1800dpi and 3500dpi?

On driver ver 3.01, firmware 2.44.
*
ya for DA its ok.
but for taipan, got no downloadable standalone driver...
