Hi everyone. My first post. Booked CFE on 4/05/12.
But still have a little niggling doubt whether to proceed or to cancel my booking.
My question is why a lot of problems that can be rectified at QC stage have to be rectified at SC?
I think this kind of issues is giving a bad impression on PROTON.
Not everybody including myself can always take time off to take the car to SC.
Just want to ask a honest question.
Will Bro like Kiapreve and others who have encountered numerous problems due to shoddy finishing and workmanship willing to recommend to the car to others?
Is all the hassle worth it?
All your answers and feedback very much appreciated.

I will answer you in one short phrase and believe me I'm a proton owner undergoing hell with the SC. So my phrase is

BETTER BE SAFE THAN SORRY

Thank you

Yes, i agreed is bro Jun express his concerns, not everyone could spend so mch tine to on leave all the time to send their carto the service centre after sales due to quality nmanufacturing issues, it kinda waste time n money to due to product issue, is proton going to payback RM300 to compensate for the daily salary becoz of th prod isue? We buy aproduct that could give a ppl convenience n not giving others somany trouble.

I think Proton Quality Control director is a 5 year old boy who has been given LULUS stickers to stick everywhere on the Proton lol

Why is everyone blabbering about this towing eye bar. NO NEED since Preve is Auto CVT cannot be towed unless the engine is on, cuz the CVT oil pump only works while the engine is running, so by towing the car you'll say bye bye to your gearbox cool2.gif

oh no, sorry to hear that bro, what was your chasis number?

Added on June 9, 2012, 11:06 pm

preve is a front wheel drive car right?

so towing with the rear wheel on the road, will the car still move?
*
Why ask bout the chassis number, this issue started with exora bold CFE and till now the cant damn fix the problem, i think they just depend on owners luck if the OWV is ok or not. and let the owner crave to the SC and waste the valuable time vmad.gif

the reason for me to ask about chassis number is to know whether the newer batch still has owv problem.

Added on June 9, 2012, 11:20 pm

first u said cannot be tow now u say can be tow...

u know what is towing?

tow the front means lift the front of the car up and pull with the rear wheel on the road.

as preve is a front wheel drive car.

doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

I said it cannot be towed using the peice everyone was looking for in the boot (eyebar) cuz if you tow by pulling the car on four wheels the front tires will run and the engine is off so damage to CVT occures cuz no oil, thats why you have to tow lifting the front tires. clear now bro thumbup.gif

Since we are talking bout damage to CVT when spinning the tires while the engine is off (flat towing), Pleas note that doing high speed balancing to the front tires while engine is off also hurts the CVT. please insist to the balancing shop to always keep your engine running whilst performing on car high speed balancing whistling.gif

The clutch disenggaged the cvt. So y does the cvt need to be cooled?
*
even though the clutch is disengaged from the tires, the tires will spin the drive shafts and the rest of the bearings inside the gearbox plus the neutral clutch itself. that's why it needs need oil! from the oilpump that will only spin with the engine

hi doctor.AGF, Ameiruddin and all,

Good point there doctor, that the front wheels need to be lifted off the road while towing the Preves with CVT transmission, to protect the CVT transmission.
Then proton should have clearly stated in the owner's manual that CVT models would not have the tow eyebar.

However, what about if the tow eyebar was used by the Preve to tow another car with a manual transmission or to tow a small trailer?
Then we would need a tow eyebar, won't we? Which we don't have...cheers.
*
I agree they should put one tow eyebar, but what to do. and i also dont think preve can move at 1.5k rpm if its attached to another car. maybe the CVT belt will snap cool2.gif

Yes my dear brother.

Agreed. I think that might be the last time I go there. Will try to find a good one in Kuantan for my 5K service.

To those who didn't know/still confuse about 5K or 10K service, I've asked the SA when collecting my car that why some SC said is 5K and some of it said 10K? I pointed out in the service booklet that there's no place for 5K service. The SA then showed me that there's 2 parts of the service booklet. 1 is for normal usage of the car where the difference between 2 services is by 10K and another part for those cars that are "severely" driven which shows the difference of 5K interval between service. Nonetheless, u can check yours to further confirm. Huhu

Go to Kuantan Edar Service Center in Semambu, they are very good. They even have their own alignment machine. rclxm9.gif

Damn nice. Thanks you so much for the info my brother! notworthy.gif

Last time always brought my wife's ViVA to Semambu P2 SC. This time it'll be the same then just the car and the SC will be different. Thx again!

BTW, did they have free coffee? The new SC in Setapak even has their own tea lady. Served me once when I met with my SA few weeks ago.
*
Yup coffee is there and once you sit the lady come and ask you want tea/coffee. also wifi there + Tandas lol. the only thing is that the place is old and looks crap. but the service and attitude are excellent. thumbup.gif
Take care Bro.
