Now Imagine without inferno, I bet every single person out there that has already beaten Hell mode will have nothing to do at all other than rolling new classes. Inferno gives the maxed level players something to continue playing their characters and hunting better items. Granted it is ridiculously hard, but it is only due to the fact blizzard wanted inferno to have taken at least a few months to get beaten so they can roll out an expansion for D3 while players are busy trying to best inferno. Obviously something went wrong somewhere cuz inferno got beaten 6 days after servers went live lol.

RMAH just provides a platform for people who don't have the time or patience to farm an option to spend real money on gears instead of spending gold or farming it themselves. Like many other forumers have stated, they're not forcing you to buy stuff from RMAH, its just a platform for players to get gears using money or vice versa. Nothing wrong or sinister about that. And yes it is possible to beat inferno without having to spend cash.

And about the conspiracy theory that blizzard themselves would sell godlike items in RMAH to gain a quick buck is utterly lame. Why would they do that when WoW is the biggest cash cow in the gaming world? Why risk your reputation when you are already making millions?
