Instead of just HP/damage increase, they should have the bosses do something different each difficulty, something like WoW hard modes

Just some ideas...

The Butcher (Act 1)

Nightmare When he grapple hooks a player, he will begin to cast Rot, an aoe effect ability that damages and slows nearby players
Hell He will do the above. Also, his aoe cone hooks now pull players towards him and he will begin to cast Rot
Inferno He will do all the above. At 50% hp, he will smash the floor grating and all players will fall into another room below. In this room, players will receive a fire damage debuff which will do more damage per tick (100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400) and at any one time, 90% of the room will be engulfed in flames

Belial (Act 2)
Nightmare He will summon adds in phase 3 as well
Hell He will do the above. In addition, he will summon 1 fiery tornado wall which will circle the room, dealing fire damage and slows players by 50%. This is very much like Al'Akir's tornado wall in WoW, where you will only have a small window to pass through this wall. He won't cast this during the bombing run
Inferno He will do all the above, only now he will cast the tornado wall during the bombing run, this time he will cast 2 tornado walls

Cydaea (Act 3)
Nightmare She will summon 1 add that will fixate on a random player. Once this add reaches the player, it will explode, dealing damage to all players in the room
Hell She will do the above. Furthermore, when she's up in the air, she will also channel a poison laser beam which will follow a player dealing damage.
Inferno She will do all the above. Now, all the small bugs that spawn out of the green portals will also explode once they reach a player

Azmodan (Act 3)
Nightmare The rain of corpses will now spawn zombies that will aid Azmodan. These zombies have a slow attack which slows players by 50%
Hell He will do the above. The black puddles now lasts indefinitely
Inferno He will do all the above. At 50% hp, he will shatter the room apart and lava will begin to fill up the room over time. At the same time, debris will also fall down from the ceiling

Diablo (Act 4)
Nightmare Diablo gains a new ability, Cold Touch, which will slow players by 60% and has a chance to freeze players in place
Hell Same as the above. In shadow phase, he will summon 2 shadow clones per player instead of 1. In phase 3, Diablo will channel the fiery lightning spell twice as long.
Inferno Same as the above. After the end of phase 2, he will shatter the room and meteors will start raining down on players. Cracks in the floor will appear, revealing shadow patches. At regular intervals, Diablo will cast a devastating ring of fire which will deal 100% of players' max hp in damage, players can step inside the shadow patches to enter the shadow realm again to avoid this damage, however players will have to deal with their clones again (who now have slowing attacks) and have 10 seconds to exit the room before losing their minds to madness (instant wipe)

i think thats great since atm they dont seem like they are actually using the advantage of us playing online

@TS

this hp/dps increase is boring and dull

As if they would listen. They never listened to any of our hunter class suggestions anyways doh.gif

Anyways, the inspiration came from these boss fights. You need to see some of these videos to know what I was talking about in the first post tongue.gif (WoW has some of the best boss fights ever)

where's the fun for d2, compare to d3?

i'm guessing peeps just dun accept that lewt are not handed to them properly like the old times

They just shifted the focus from bosses to elite mobs. You forgot when back in D2, you cannot go to a boss directly, you had to kill groups of elite mobs. Boss loots have diminishing returns, the more you farm the boss, the less better loot will drop, in many cases, a lot rely on the elite waves for drops than the actual boss itself.

Diablo - have to activate the sigils, each sigil has its own accompanying elite groups (all of which have a chance to drop rares)

Baal - have to go through a gauntlet to kill waves of elite mobs which drop rare loots as well

And bosses have fixed mechanics you cannot change, so if you don't meet the gear check, no loot for you. This indirectly means there is some form of impetus to farm elite mobs in non-boss encounters to farm better equipment.
Whereas elite mobs have random mechanics, some are easier than the rest, some are harder... meaning you just go to a random cave/crypt, scout for potential groups, if you see an affix combo you don't like, relog until you find an affix combo which is acceptably easy for you, kill, farm, repeat, profit

Boss fights are tough and lengthy but promises great rewards for players. And in any game, main story boss >>>>>>>>>> their minions. Do you see that in D3? In D3, minions are stronger than the bosses themselves, so I just wonder who exactly is the real boss here. And the way things are going in D3, main bosses are just there because of story only, not for farm. I just want to kill a main story boss to finish the story, and that's it.

Which is better? You tell me icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree with you too. But GM in blizzard doesn't agree

they find that's it's perfectly fine for minions to be stronger than boss. they want it to be like treasure hunt, u need to hunt for them and get them down. Not like D2, which whenever u go find that 3 brothers, you are guarantee to face some elite and also the boss.
The unbelievably bland world makes this 'treasure hunt' feel like a chore than fun.

btw, for D2, mephisto can be farmed easily rite? unlike diablo and baal.

Nope, you still can't walk right up to the boss. Mephisto's room is filled with elite council members (especially the dreaded lightning enchanted ones shakehead.gif) and bloodlords, I remember clearing the room, then accidentally pulled Mephisto sweat.gif

one more thing.

each character should have own ending.
got own intro but no ending video?

Thing is they gave each character and follower a backstory, but forgot to tie it all up at the end.
