Dont panic, this has nothing to do with your hardware. This basically happens sometime due to some conflict. Lets proceed to fix the problem for you.

Step 1 : Download the firmware for your iPad here. ( iPad 2 - GSM (5.1.1) )
Step 2 : After download, connect your iPad to your computer
Step 3 : Hold the Power + Home button till your iPad screen becomes blank
Step 4 : Then immediately hold down the Power button till you see the Apple logo
Step 5 : After the Apple logo appears, immediately hold down the Home button together with the Power button = Home + Power button
Step 6 : Once your screen has gone blank, release the power button while remain to hold down the home button till a message pop-up on your iTunes saying that your device is in DFU mode.
Step 7 : Now, click on Restore while holding down the Shift button together = Shift + Restore button.
Step 8 : A window pop-up will appear, continue by choosing the firmware file you downloaded above previously at Step 1
Step 9 : Wait for your iPad to restore.
Step 10 : Chill thumbup.gif
