TIADA DALAM PASARAN.. YEAP R1 IS GREAT...
my advice.. just buy the R1 selagi dpt deal yg terbaik..

but at the same time.. buy somehting 2nd hand like ZX150/250R ninja or... RS125 just to learn to control sportsbike.. at the same time.. try jalan2 with R1 or R6.. hehe.. easier.. no hassle.. just duit la kene banyak.. biggrin.gif
*
bad advice for a beginner to go for an R1.

Even R6 is too much

Guys I'm gonna start biking by next year, gonna do more research and seek for advice before starting it ~

What bike I'm gonna start with ?

The Yamaha R1 is in my mind but I now its bad to start with a super sport, so I was considering a R15 first ~ Is it a right choice ?
*
if you are going the big bike way, here's a more serious thread

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/538531

really, this /k/ bikers club thread, as the name implies is for us to troll only... wink.gif

QUOTE(whatsupbro @ May 30 2012, 05:50 PM)
Im sorry MASTER lucifah... Im a newbie..

Bad advice?? not really.. I did imply on him to get a KIPS or RS125 first.. assuming he is freaking rich cos he straight away ask for Big Bikes (R1) so having 2-3 bikes at the same time wont really be a big deal for him..

Honestly... I do not support on people getting big bikes for first timer.. but Im getting sick of ppl asking on if it is ok if he/she wants to but an R1 or RSV4 straight away.. according to LAW.. u can.. cos it's ur money... and if he/she really want to buy it.. don't need to ask for others opinions.. tongue.gif

I'm not being a smart ass or poyo here.. but basically... anyone can buy and felt like he/she tamed a beast of RSV4, R1 or other big bikes they bought.. cos after 3-6 weeks of handling it.. he/she may felt much more confident on handling the bike around town and looking cool with it.. same goes to anyone using KIPS or RS125 or any other current below 400 sportsbike..

but the truth is.. that one moment that u never expect to happen.. that one moment where u need a split second decision to save ur life.. that is where u will kantoi.. I've known a few riders older than me and had experienced more than 10-15 years riding bikes and big bikes.. but still I can see how they do silly mistakes like body positioning and using the correct line.. (Im not saying about trackdays.. but normal road riding)

So.. my point is.. my advice is just to let him and everyone else who is going to ask.. if u want to buy any bike u can afford.. go ahead.. get them.. but then... u'll need to learn SO MUCH to improve ur skill in such a short period... or else.. when that time comes.. u'll probably will suffer a lot (or maybe even die.. takdir)
*
haih~ u read my reply the wrong way

i did not say it's your advice that is bad, and i know you did mention about starting with a kips or rs125 1st

but u know la, most noob when they read pro advice, they only read the 1st sentence only...

no hard feelings bro, biggrin.gif

i agree

but with a very strong caveat

i don't know any of you at all, nor any of the people in the other thread, and i still mix well... occassionally, LOL

that is the sad part living on the other side of malaysia... so forever arone

i ride everyday to work, 6 days a week oso very hard to find fellow bikers on the road. perhaps once a week can see someone using KIPS or a Ninja250 pass by only...

it's 500-km one way

and if you have been to sarawak's so called highway, you're gonna cry

it's no better than a kampung road

and there is no mountains / high hills for you to challenge

just boring flat, twisty, danegrous trunk roads used by illegal timber lorries, and what not

i know i'm exaggerating, but heck, it's really dangerous... (actually, me no balls one)
