HARDCORE

A player may create a Hardcore character - the true test of the player's skills.


A Hardcore character is the same as a normal character except for the following:

- When a Hardcore character dies, the game ends and you cannot simply reload your last save point because the character is gone forever.

- When a Hardcore character dies, they are not removed from the Character Selection Screen, instead remaining there as a robed figure (as pictured) to remind players of their loss until the character is deleted by the player.

- Only the Items the Character has worn can be looted by other players (if the player has allowed this before the character died). In effect, the game treats you like a mortal human being rather than the semi-immortal non-Hardcore characters, accordingly called Softcore by Hardcore players.

- Hardcore characters are displayed in a more aggressive pose in the Character Selection Screen, depicting their tense state of play.

- Hardcore characters get different Titles for beating the game.

- Hardcore characters do not have access to normal characters stash.

- Other than these, there are no other differences in gameplay terms. Dead hardcore characters will even retain whatever position on the Hardcore Ladder they may have achieved (albeit with their names in gray) until they have been surpassed by enough other players to knock them off of the Ladder. Hardcore mode is regarded by many as a more realistic playing experience.

Ultimate Hardcore Challenge # 1

Ultimate Hardcore:

1. Start with the weapon your character is holding and beat up mob.
2. Can only equip 1 new slot AFTER you defeat yellow mob.
3. Once slot is filled, it cannot be swapped for another slot i.e. you fill the helmet slot but later decide you want to fill the torso slot so you swap. Swap is not allowed

Three same thing as D2

I have a lvl10 hardcore mage, progressing VERY slowly, just beat skeleton king only.

I think the AH is different also. and it seems to have more elites compare to normal.

does each hardcore have their own stash and artisans?

yea is quite hard than normal mode ... so is damn dangerous ...wanna play with us ?

dying plenty as it is playing DH on softcore
cant imagine HC especially on weekends, the server spiking etc

just beat SK using my hardcore DH. currently level 9.

waht job u using ? ...im DH , hp quite low ..easy die hahah but need some party to tank lo

nope only HARDCORE ...normal , nightmare or hell wont =D

I play only hardcore characters. Once you go hardcore you will never be able to go back to softcore. There is just no sense of danger in softcore. Its too.... wimpy. No offense to SC guys, its just how I feel when I am in softcore.

Currently, I have a level 16 monk and a level 16 barb. Both in act 2. A friend and me regularly play together at night. The barb is for my solo play while my monk I play only when my friend and I have the time.

u play at nightmare mode or hardcore ? ....

Hmmm butcher ah? I wouldn't mind a farm run for my barb. Even though he low level, a little farming doesn't hurt anybody.
