Do u think this game really need 10 years to complete?

Graphic: not too bad, but cant say good. Average.
Gameplay: edit from diablo 2
Story: short

So which part they spend so much time? Is that server which is currently facing frequent maintenance, lag and hack? Just curious

over hype i guesss. cause everyone is waiting for it. Myself when i first play it during my 10th level... it was like a no surprise to me. It did not gave me the wow factor.

they spent too mush time/people on WoW.

U do know that they got other projects in hand during the past decade right? They can't possibly focus all their effort on just Diablo 3.

Other projects they did between Diablo 2 & 3:
- Warcraft III
- World of Warcraft
- Starcraft 2
- Counting money

it's just that it took blizzard 10+ years to resurrect this franchise. they have other franchises that they've yet to reuse/renew after so many companies that have combined over the years (activision,vivendi, blizzard, etc).

ROFL, D3 is basically a copy and paste version of WoW, with topdown isometric camera perspective and no monthly fees, but with even worse server uptimes than WoW

Blizzard also not so confident in this game, it seems that they know this game not as epic as it should be.
They expect 3.5million copies sold for the first year,
but actually 3.5++ million copies were sold the first day

Cough, they were leeching from the success of D1 and D2

3.5 is quite bad compared to sim 1's 12 million. I think it should do better than wow's 10 million? or was it 7, cannot remember

Definitely the worst game i ever play for these few years. Just my opinion. No offence to die-hard-fans

no... D3 is delayed because they want to maximize the profit they can earn with WoW.

in between 2001 to 2012 May 15, the game industry develop :

Mass Effect I, II, III
Entire Call of Duty Series
Crysis 1 & 2
Elder Scrolls III, IV, V
Assasin Creep Series.....

They can be busy with other game for first 9 years then final 1 year then only plan 4 diablo 3

10 years? Make that 6, which is after they totally scrapped Blizzard North Diablo III.

Since when i start an argument ah? About gameplay all these already say many time by others liao.

Just curious mah..10 years. When the day it release, even the fm DJ say this one is big game, took 10 yrs to develope! take half day leave and go home play hahaha!!!

Seriously all the hype about Blizzard's game should stop.

For me Diablo III is not worth the money. What's with the repetitive hack & slash all over again.

But I can still compliment Starcraft II since there isn't much decent RTS game out there.

Torch light 2 is only 1/3 of its price. Even it lack of something, but it worth the price for sure. Diablo 3 is an incomplete game, yet selling for that price. Not to mention the expansion will cost u again. I rather take the money for game like guild war 2. and diablo i will play my friend account

agree.......diablo 3 is over hyped..

Please do you really believe that they will use 10 years to develop a game like this? It just a marketing gimmick, advertising point of sales..

But then, it really got a shadows of torchlight...while torchlight has a shadows of Diablo 2, never ending stories....

Im oso surprise and quite frustated with D3. Of cuz D2 is D2 and D3 and D3 but, I feel less and less connection in between D2 and D3. Too much grinding. Too short story. Repeatitive.

Well torchlight dev is a D2 makers. They leave blizzard then made torchlight. Now expect torchlight 2 to come out very soon and have closest feel like D2. While D3, was made from WoW makers. Ppls are loving D2, and them put too much expectation on the new born D3. If u know what I mean.

somehow i felt D2 and D3 are almost the same....just different play style and story line...we killed butcher so many times (D1, D2 & D3) and still butcher live...man~! killing him again on the D4 (<--If there is) is getting old....lolz~!

the moment i started the few hours, i say "wow, not bad"
after 60+ hours and reach inferno act2, i started to feel something is very not right, the feeling is very very the wrong

even with major fix, i still don't see it as a long live game
not addictive at all, good for me anyway

Its probably done in like 2-3 years max and this incomplete feeling D3 is emiting could be intended so they could release expansions for it lol

Its a beautiful hack & slash that may become a WoW variant lol

do you guys know how a team running in a cg company?
team by team usually this team is war3
that team is star2
then wont be clashing each other project
cause it might be very big problem if they end up mixing the modeling animation
and effect

meaning concentration of file source

like their company cg and in game is separated so this project maximum only take 1~2year enough too much time

Do you have other alternative better than Diablo III in the past 10 years?
The nearest one could be Torchlight. But it is not really close.

I'm looking forward towards the RMAH.. hope it doesn't mess up the main game with all the hacking etc...

agree even the story also not longer than torchlight did
6 skill torchlight has more choices

why i need to concentration a games that wont last long . 1-2years the games will die .

wow is the most profitable games ever create by blizzard . over 10M playeer aorund the world . and the games is releasing on 2004 and still got over 10M player NOW

that explain why Diablo 3 take so long .

Torchlight 2 is coming out next month.


inb4 all the hardcore players who will (eventually) whine about casual (lazy) people who buy their way out of the game (powerleveling, gold, gear etc)

as always, people is too lazy to L2P

imo, just play if you enjoy.. move on if you dislike.. i have tonnes of PS3 games that i don't play at all

If the story can let me play for atlease 2 3 weeks. I will like the game some how. Like final fantasy series. This one is extremely short, not to mention the story is incomplete.

It's like saying Tetris is the best game because there is no better alternative to drop geometry genre.

yeah love the FF series, i think diablo 3 storyline might be longer and with deeper lores..

people tend to expect a lot from massive developer though, like how people are demanding more from Iphone when it's sufficiently good already..
