if your phone can install the Bnet Mobile Authenticator, then its smartphone
the normal SMS authenticator is applicable to all phone, as long as your phone number is inside Blizzard system.

Basically if your phone can download apps then it is a smart phone tongue.gif
But when you go to BNet there's actually a list of them available.

sms alert only inform you if they detected any suspicious activity, like somebody try to log or try to change your password and email in your account at other location.

authenticator apps is more safe, because you need to keyin authenticator no. every time you log in to your account and your game.
