10th Edition is coming. Wee ~!

Pre-releases don't give you a Foil Reya Dawnbringer for participating. Not to mention other freebies for some lucky people which you don't get at Pre-release events. Life-counter , Backpack , Deck Boxes ... etc etc..

Also prize structure varies from location to location. Our place might be running the release party event with a Pre-release prize structure. Haven't finalized yet because I just got back yesterday.

I will probably update the information in 1-2 days time.

Welcome to the game and to LYN magic community. If you're looking to trade / buy cards , my suggestion is to head on to your nearest store whenever they are running FNM tournaments. You'll get more casual players who will be buy/sell/trading cards instead of the more competitive ones.

We run FNM's on wednesday nights from 8pm to about 10.30pm , feel free to join us. Comic's Corner subang has their's on Fridays at 3pm onwards as well

Just one thing to add though , although most stores allow players to buy/sell/trade cards on their premises. Some stores which are selling singles "discourage" players from excessive selling/trading. Of course Manawerx isn't one of them .

We can sanction the drafts for you guys , no problem. Karry helped me by posting some of our store information below. My signature also has a link to one of my previous post , I update information there every now and again.

No problem Wee Kiat , anytime is fine as long as it's convinient for you. I'm normally at the shop daily , most of the time I come in during the evenings about 6.30 pm.

Peter hangs out with us at the store quite often also. I'm sure he can join in for the drafts as well.

Umm South is from which direction ? Towards KL or away from KL ? It's either the Amcorp Mall flyover or the PJ Hilton Flyover. The PJ Hilton one has got long (as in time) traffic lights , I usually use the Amcorp one.

I actually got 3 players from the shop interested to draft. Here are the times they are coming :

1) Shaun 3pm onwards
2) Nazim 3pm onwards
3) Peter 5-6pm onwards

those are the players which are free to draft for tommorow.

I don't know what is the latest you guys are able to start the draft.

No problem. There are a few guys who don't really have a draft group so they are planning to set one up too. Maybe you guys can get together and exchange contacts.

Are you sure it's blinkable ? Apparently it's not a triggered ability and it will check straight away if you played it for the evoke cost.

The text on the card says "if you do, it's sacrificed when it comes into play" . I think that means that the card will hit the graveyard first before anything else.

I think it's something like state-based effects. Like how Blood Moon effects lands coming into play. When you lay a non-basic land it's already a Mountain. That sorta thing.

Then again I may be wrong .

The guy is a new artist for M:TG isn't he ? He's only credited with 1 card on gatherer. What's he doing at M-Fest . Must have been quite boring signing same cards over and over

Goyf is hotter than Damnation now. I think it's safe to say that it's more than RM50 market rate.

Not as much as 4th Edition / Ice Age or Urza's Saga Block , but still quite alot of people playing the game.

You got it almost spot on. The reason why people normally net-deck is because they don't have the time to spend tweaking and fine-tuning decks of their own creation. Besides it's not only has to do with how you want the deck to perform by itself but also how does the deck peform against the rest of the field (or meta).

Most simple and efficient way is to net-deck and sideboard according to your local metagame. Say you expect lots of dredge at a compy , then you'll prepare your sideboard more towards Dredge , same goes for other decks.

But to be honest , with worldwide nationals coming up and all . The current metagme has got quite a few decks which are quite good at the moment. Most notable are the different variants of blink decks which utilize Momentary Blink and Venser. Rakdos and OmniChord also seem to be quite popular too. On the fringe of these decks will probably be decks like Mono-Green Aggro and Red-deck Wins.


By the way for anyone who is interested in drafting , I'm trying to organize an 8 man pod for this Saturday at around 3pm @ Manawerx. I'm trying to keep this pod open for the intermediate players , so the picking order will be 1-1-1-1 formula. If anyone is interested can probably post here or drop me a pm / sms.

Don't worry about the rules. The new 10th edition filler cards explains the phases of each turn very well. That alone should give you a very good idea of how to use the information to your advantage.

Besides , they should be a number of guys playtesting tommorow. So you can watch and re-learn.

The draft probably won't be on , most of the guys can't make it. You shouldn't have a problem looking for guys to test your deck out with. I got the cards you wanted already. See you later.
