Ok just want to share some knowledge and hope u ppl do share yours too.

Normal mobs, we have no problem, and boss fights, should be easy if you already know the trick, or go open other thread, we will be just talking about elites and its minions for later 2 difficulty, i play public game and ppl really screw up big time, i would rather playing alone to die less =P.

All talk is about hell and inferno, normal and nightmare is simple so please dont apply your trick that works in normal and nightmare in the later 2 difficulty, in normal difficulty, u can swim in the swamp of mob and u maybe still not scratched, in the later 2, few of them touch you a bit, u are dead. So if you havent even reach hell yet, just read, dont comment, thanks.

First thing i want to share, is if you spot elite, identify them, see if they noticed you or not, but it doesnt matter, walk back and plan your tactic, choose do you want to fight it(or them), if no, walk away(i feel some player just whack 1st then decide later), if yes, its not gonna to be easy, worst if you screw up. Make sure you have a clean area to deal with it(or them), remove all other mob in that area, and when fighting with the elite, dont walk into new area and lure another bunch of mob or worst another group of elite.

Use shooter or skill that allows you to attack far away to draw it or them to you, NOT JUMP INTO IT, good if you only draw 1 or 2 away from the pack, its easier kill just 1 instead of many, concentrate fire power into 1, dont attack randomly, they do heal, so if you hurt all, they all will get back hp slowly, but you kill 1, its dead.

Now its about its affixes, in normal they have 1, nightmare they got 2, hell 3 and inferno 4, you need to know what they do, there is another page in lowyat got almost full list of them, read it and memorize it, its important. link

[Shielding], it will sometimes on and sometime off, run away from it when the shield is on, u cant damage it(100%), when its off, party time.
[Arcane Enchanted], it will throw purple light saber, dont touch it, you will die, i run pass it in hell and i lose 6k hp, if you stand still, i think nobody can survive that. Even you kill the elite, the saber wont disappear, it will disappear in about 10 seconds.
[Invulnerable Minions], u need to kill the boss, the 1 in gold color, others wont die until the boss is down, dont waste time attacking minions, if you got a party, some ppl lure minions, some ppl attack boss, keep minions running away from the boss.
[Mortar], you need to get close, not far away, unless its so far that u cant see it, for DH, u can do that, run far enough and use tracking arrow while another player tanking, btw Mortar hurtz
[Teleporter], its difficult to run away from it, so if you want to run away, use skills.
[Molten], it moves, it create larva trail, dont chase it or walk into the larva, and remember when a larva ones dies, it will explode, dont collect loot b4 it explode, and the explosion hurtz
[Reflect Damage], u deal damage to it, u hurt yourself, i think its 10% off damage you do, so if it has 500k hp, u gonna hurt yourself 50k, so prepare healings.
[Illusionist], you attack it, it will duplicate, and those clones, they do make damage as well, but easily killed.
[Vampiric], they sucks your blood, for these, you must kill 1 by 1, or they will get back full by attacking you.
[Vortex], it pull you towards them, every annoying skill for shooter, but if you manage to find something that prevent you from being pull, u are safe, ie you stand behind bars while you shoot through, they can pull you, but u are blocked by bars.
[Frozen], they will create some ice stars on the ground, it will grow bigger and bigger then explode, pretty large radius, it damage you and freeze you, you cant move for few seconds and continue to take damage being attacked, so try to avoid.

Healing globe - Dont consume them when you dont need them, even leave it far behind is better than just waste it, it gives you no benefit if you already full, taking this will heal you and your party. So it can be useful later when being chase by some elites, items on the ground will still be there after long time, i never keep track of how long they will be there, but its pretty long, so dont waste them.(means dont collect them when you dont need them).

fast invulnerable minions = gg

especially the Accused, Yellow boss.... it runs super fast and also his JR all is invulnerable... so we have to kill the boss first... ouch, can you feel the pain? between i am a DH....

Last night I died against reflect dmg elites on inferno.haha
Fired down on mobs with just 18k hp, died once by reflected dmg.
They didnt even touch me, I kited them to low ground and shoot from far in crypt act 1(stupid ai...haha), but took me 12 mythic pots to before all of them are dead.

fought a vampiric freezing arcane etc etc elite, lets just say both of us decided to live forever

those mob that originally moved fast, and get the fast affixes, it's damned hard

invulnerable minion one also very the dulan, although once i met a mob that will explode themselves to attack you, even with invulnerable minion, the minion still die exploding itself lol

i loved Illusionist as my wizard will usually pawn it easily...wahah

does the enchantress hex skill work on elites in hell/inferno?

My guide to fight elites when solo for Monks, in Hell:

1) Find a nearby portal.
2) When found, walk back to the Elite, lure them near the portal
3) Hit the mobs, heal yourself with Breath of Heaven and pots, cast Mantra of Regeneration (rune is up to you)
4) When HP is low again and you have no pots/BoH to use, enter the portal.
5) Heal yourself again with BoH, wait for another 5 seconds before exiting.
6) Go out, hit hit hit hit again (remember to have a mercenary [templar/scoundrel/enchantress])
7) Rinse and repeat until enemies are dead.

This won't work on Plagued elites as the DoT stacks in intensity the longer you stand on it. I tried and got eaten alive lol.

DoT? the green thingy that they cast? And i use the lashing tail kick to knockback. then go in front whack whack whack then go hide again. hehe

Yeah the green vomit. I did it against a plagued minion and they just stacked vomit on the floor. Just going out = dead.
