Any ideas where to activate the wifi personal hotspot.

Or do it depend on the ISP plan it's self?

i just open up iTunes, sync my iPad, then a message pop up saying that there's an update for carrier setting, so did that, and there's the personal hotspot.

i'm on maxis, not sure about others.

Currently only Umobile and Maxis support personal hotspot on Ipad...the rest, you just call them and complaint!!!

I'm using UMobile Boradband plan, the U28. How to activate the hotspot? I still dununderstand the iTunes updates cause i din saw it or y broadband just boldly dun support this features?

this applies to all ipad version? can support up to how many device?

my guess is some telco just don't want the user to use tethering if they're offering unlimited uncapped package or else there WILL be someone abuse it. so Apple decided to let the telco to make the decision whether they let their user to tether or not.

i saw the update when i sync to iTunes but didn't bothered to install the update first, since i only use the iPad's 3G connection alone. but when i tried to go to "network" setting under iPad's setting, i saw nothing, and no new message about updates except 5.1.1 which i'm not updating it just yet, 5.1 isn't giving any sign of problem. so i think the only way is to update the setting via iTunes.

after the update, reboot iPad, and there's the personal hotspot column and can be switched on to activate.

Its not working. Even when i go Settings > General > About, it doesn't prompt me the updates at all. Any UMobile U28 postpaid experiencing the same issue as me?

If your ISP has blocked your personal hotspot, try cydia tweaks like PDANet, it works great
