Have anyone try investing in it yet? it would be great if someone opened a thread where we can discus this or share tips/experience etc etc xD

So far wasted about 120k on crafting... can safely say 9/10 of the results were junk.

Did you guys find any nice recipes? Their prices in AH are hella redonkulous

GEMS CRAFTING, do invest in it no matter how, coz u need to have good gems later on. as for the armor and weapon crafting, i stop on level Hell since the loot is much more gooding + free lol..

i'm on lvl 8 smithing. i can safely say yes.

as rare plan or legend plan drop.. then u're making gold...

does the plan only drop in Inferno?
i am at act 4 Hell nao.. so far no problem..
heard lotsa friend complaining Inferno just too overwhelming for them..

i dunno if it drop on inferno only, so far i have few yellow plan thaqt drop in inferno waiting my smithing to reach level10.

quite true, u will die alot, get frustrated, constantly changing tactic, upgrade, eventually will become doable, and then cheese... inferno was at diablo very best of challenging mode. i like it alot.. to be honest.

I have a party of 4 where 1 of us focus on Crafting Gem + Items. When he crafted rares - thou the stats are random, it does give out good items.

Money is not really a problem the other 3 will support that.

Everytime our inventory is full, all of us will salvage the unecessary item and throw the crafting items + gems to the crafter.

So yeah, having a good party is pretty nice too (: save money. Save time.

i actually did that, but that person that ive invested decided to be a jackass, so half my game gold and all gems lost to him, oh well, solo might take a while i guess

im maining barb, whats your recommendation? when to start investing and smith weapons?

i got max BS..used up around 300k gold buying tome of secret..and i can safely say the item u craft, if good stat is profitable around 20-30k per craft (after -crafting fee(50k) + mats)

Wrong. 90% of the plans are worthless. The only ones you'll ever use are the Cow Level plans and the Exalted Grand equipment which have 6 affixes and SOME legendaries.

Why would you pay 100k per craft attempt on a Exalted Fine when you can just farm Act I Inferno for better stuff?

coz i havent been able to reach inferno..xD <---main reason
coz i cant even get past act4 hell solo <---2nd reason
coz im using barb whose dps is low and can hardly tank any elites<--- 3rd reason

And you would pay 100k to craft a lvl60 piece of equipment when you can buy one with guaranteed good stats on the AH for less? Logic?

Both my artisans are maxed level and I have Exalted Fine recipes and trust me, they are NOT worth it unless they are Grand.

sigh the AH prices won't stay low for long, once RMAH comes out next week, plus inflation

agree i throw almost 500k on crafting crap stats equipment
collect money buy from AH worth more

i see, just curious thou, those items crafted arent slotted? or there is no future patch of making em better?

Slots are a single affix on equipment that can range from 1 to 3 for armor.

Basically if you craft a 4 affix item it could be:

u make it, max 4 stats but from monster, max can have 6, so u got the chance to make a good 1, but not a best 1.

man...crafting sounds...so bad....LOL

apparently the best thing to do is just buy the best stat blues from AH after every few levels

Specific items are valuable, like the Black Bone Arrows Plan (Legendary) and the Grand Exalted items which come with 6 affixes. They're expensive though but have nice skins.

ANyone tell why blacksmithing is such a bull s to learn.. i spent like hundreds k on leveling, then only to found out that AH stuffs are way much better and cheaper.. furthermore leveling blacksmithing doesnt require to 'craft to level up' but by paying instead... In ah the subtle substance thing costs 16g per piece, whereas if i sell the blue to npc, average is around 100-200g.. so i find it no point breaking blues now.

chill. AH market is still unstable. Now there's a lot of supply and lesser demand. Wait till it get stable and sell your item appropriately.

just spend some free time go for shopping in AH.....before the RMAH kicks in

try using the filters and enter the minimum buyout amount and other stats u desire, u will be surprised at some of the results

In normal act, the gems crafting only can upgrade to level 3 only, right?

cos i cant find any training pages in normal act (now only on act 3).

I think crafting is useful when you start your second character because by then you have leveled up everything and can take advantage from start to finish. Crafting is a gamble. Sometimes you get good stats sometimes you dont. I usually craft until I'm happy with the stats or until I run out of materials. The balance crafted items I don't use I just auction.

u know, after some trial and error playing around with smithing, i find it to be very newbie friendly O.o

put it this way, if ur unlucky and shit, u can actually just make some rly decent starter gears to compensate

sure its a gamble, but in a sense its like an extra bonus

i think im addicted to smithing lol
