Hey guys, i need your help. Newbie here. biggrin.gif I was just wondering how to prevent the water in my tank from turning yellow.
why is it turning yellow anyways?
Is it because of the driftwood in it? hmm.gif

DW will leach tannin causing the water to be yellow for some time (days or months)

but i bought the driftwood from the shop. it came with the plants attached to it. Wouldnt it be "clean" and free of tannins by then?
Also, are the tannins harmful?
i also recently added dwarf puffers to the tank and ive heard that they produce quite a bit of ammonia.
could that be the reason?
