This might explain it.

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Diablo-3-...ames-43162.html

It heavily points toward session spoofing.
Thats why only your last character is affected, but not your other characters.

This is an important reminder to those who have PSN accounts.
Generally, most ppl will use same password for their accounts for different sites.

Since the hacking of PSN, most prominent sites, Ubisoft, Sega and even Valve have been supposedly been 'attacked', when in actuality the hackers did was used the datamined passwords from PSN hacking and used it on several other email bound accounts of the effected users.

And the whole account intrusion happening right now might as well be related to the siphoned passwords from PSN hacking, since ppl recycle their password on all of their online accounts. sweat.gif
Online services which tied to email as a log in ID is highly susceptible to this, as the hackers have one less problem to worry which is acquiring log in IDs for said service, as email = login IDs.

So, if you had a PSN account, make sure to change your email pass AND your current Bnet account pass.

Here's an article that shows you how one guy stole passwords from other unsecured sites and try them on D3 accounts. He got around 10k hits and stole gold and stash from these accounts.

Lesson here : DO NOT simply create accounts on fan sites and 3rd party sites. If you do, please do not use your primary email and same password.

That's the main reason people's D3 accounts got hacked. Poor internet surfing habits. Blizzard's servers are secure as he says he cannot directly hack Blizzard's server.

Also : DO NOT BUY GOLD. You will only encourage people like him to hack more accounts.

Interstingly, last night, after dinner I realized I had about an hour or so of free time. So I decided to boot up my D3. After patching, I logged in with my username, password and then mobile authenticator (set to ask every log in) only to be greeted with a "your account is locked...... unusual activity" message.

Man, that was annoying. So I went to the Bnet website and then proceeded to initiate a new password. Armed with a new password, I logged back in and everythign was in place. The only thing I want to know is, what exactly was the "unusual activity"?

Perhaps they were trying to log in to your account and brute force the password or maybe they even have your password but was stopped by the authenticator?

I'll bet that's along the lines of what "unusual activity" means.

Perhaps. Its quite worrying because my passwords are unique and should not be cracked easily. Also, doesn't Bliz have a limit to login attempts? That should stop brute forcing.

Oh also, basic password generation technique.

In my case, i did not lost any items, just gold. The weird thing is my lost gold is about 500k which is the same amount that bought from forumer here.

My thought is, Blizzard my saw the sudden trade of 500k and flag it as illegal activity and minus back the amount. Now my gold is about the same amount before i bought the 500k. All my jewel and item are still there tho. I dunno.. a lesson learn maybe not to buy gold.

Yes, although selling gold will be legal later on, its ONLY in RMAH. Never buy gold outside of RMAH.

In other MMO games, people do get banned for buying illegal gold. Its not hard to trace where the gold goes to.
