most likely i think should be ok for maxis but DiGi definitely cannot, stupid DiGi policy.

yes, totally crazy policy. Face this stupidity last year when i want to buy Note. My previous DiGi 1 year contract when i bought Desire HD is going to expire in 3 weeks time when the Note was launched on 11.11.11. Tried to bargain with them but they simply just follow the policy - cannot extend contract. So at the end pay the penalty - i think about RM100 to "end" the contract early and then recontract for another 1 year with Galaxy Note.

This time they separated the launch event between Telco. During last year's Note launching in Johor Bahru, DiGi and Celcom were at the same booths, can see Celcom dun have much business.

RM400 is really too much. Luckily mine was just RM100 coz i have less than 1 month contract left and was contracted for Android phone - Iphone package is pricier i think.

I paid the RM100 penalty nonetheless coz they were giving away a free flip case plus another bling bling flipcase for Note that time. But most importantly is the RM100 can't deter the temptation of that big screen.

nope, will stick to my Note maybe until Note II is out - spoilt by the big screen, not possible to use any smaller screen phone.

But will get a SIII for my wife probably, to replace her aging HTC Desire. Her line (under my name) is Maxis though, so hopefully Maxis will come out with a good package for SIII light user. She is using the most basic RM50 all-in-one package at the moment.

today roadshow starts? or May 31 only have?

wow... 50 sets is really too little. Hopefully JB will be allocated more. For the last Note launching roadshow at JB last year, stock was quite a lot, can last thru 2 days. I think 150-200 sets at least.

finger crossed but dun think the offer from Maxis will be better than DiGi, just hope that it is not as bad as Celcom. May need to do MNP to DiGi first before heading to the roadshow to grab one on 31 May.

i dun think it is a first come first get arrangement - more like a lucky draw thing after you paid for the package.

Singapore Telco also offering the same call+sms+data only to Iphone. So lots of them get a Iphone with plan, sell it off then get android phone - normally get quite good "profit" from the resale of Iphone to subsidise Android phone cost.

But Maxis got such a plan now, just dunno how are they going to bundle the SIII.

it actually depends very much on whether your call+sms is a lot. DiGi Smartplan is more suitable for those user who uses less call+sms. My DiGi bill only RM80+ including the RM68 Smartplan. So it is a no brainer for me to sign up DiGi. Moreover, can get H-speed at both my home and office, so good enough for me.

But for users with lots of call+sms, it may not be the best.

yes, if it is your second phone for receive call and surf, then i think no one can match its price. Of course, network coverage is the other factor you need to consider.

but, just curious, since you are getting a second phone for surf, why no get the Note instead? It is much much much better for browsing or can even consider the Tab 7.7.

so if it is much more cheaper you will take? How about RM1,000?

i will definitely opt out of this kind of fishy (pay full first get phone later) deal no matter how cheap the selling price is.

be more alert - it might not be the real official Maxis web site.

but it really looks quite genuine, i almost fill in my details.
