You should just invest in proper equipment such as 60 DMG weapon with 1 socket, high in STR/DEX (depends on your job, Monk/DH uses dex mostly)

and then, you'll need a good Ruby to put into your weapon socket, NOT Emerald. Emeralds put onto your armor for more DEX if you want more DPS.

That's what I do. I have 700DPS now, level 34.
