No it's not.

The story of my cousin... one of the most ardent Diablo 3 player, currently studying abroad. He bought the game via the official site, whatever its called (I am out of the D3 picture, coz, I'm not into it). He said it is one of the worst games he has ever played. Every few minutes or so the screen would blank out. When it does work, it disconnects. When it doesn't disconnect, it lags. When all is well, server maintenance. That's what he said. Most likely I told him it is the internet connection there but he said the speed 'downloads everything in seconds'. So I am not so sure what the hype is all about or whether it is just a rare case of not being able to play for even a good few minutes. He has quite a beefy Dell XPS lappy so performance is not an issue.

I heard rumors the game has 10% of it on the Blizzard server which means on-the-fly updates, so I think a good internet connection would do the trick and should not really cause any blank screen/lag.    If this is not the case then the game might have a good update coming soon to sort out all the problems. I checked on Metacritic and looks like the 0/10 review strike is back. Comments from "Fail", "Worst game ever played", "Will never buy another Blizzard game"... maybe they just sark at the game?
