Just visited and swimmed for the 1st time at Subang 3k swimming pool. Thought to share a bit my finding cause i see some users reported it was closed again.

I went at 6/10/2016 Thursday 6pm to 8pm session. It looks normal to me, if I didn't read the post here I will not aware that it was closed again. But now it is opened back, I just swum there today.  rclxms.gif

My opinion and finding:
1) Water quality
    - Acceptable to me. Not as clear as where I have my swimming lesson which is Kampung Pandan Paralympic swimming pool. But I think is sufficient and will be acceptable by most users here.

2) No locker yet, sucks. So leave your expensive belonging at your car.

3) First timer need to buy a topup card. Something like a touch n go card. It will cost RM15.60, RM10 for the card and the rest is balance that can be used (if i recall correctly). Can top up at the counter. The card can also be used at Serdang swimming pool, which I do not expect I will ever go there due to distance.

4) Shower room and toilet are clean and sufficient for use by swimmers during my visit. No need to queue.

5) Floor will be slippery for some. Swimmer are not allowed to wear slipper walking inside. Swimmer must be barefoot. So be caution on this[COLOR=red].

6) By rules on paper, cap and goggle are compulsory. But no enforcement here. So no need worry.

Today I brought my own kickboard and practice my breaststroke kick. Unfortunately I am having some minor sprain on the joint between my left pelvis and left thigh, causing my left kick has lesser strength than right kick, make me constantly steer to left hand side. I think I had this sprain during last week swimming lesson.

Nevertheless, today I finally can remember and coordinate arm, leg and breath together. Although not proficient yet. About 50% chances of success. But I am happy. Looking forward to the day where I will start drinking water from my own water bottle instead from the pool.

I am also aware that the Subang 3K swimming pool lesson service provider is from D Swim Academy. I called some days ago and according to them, their lessons only will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Other weekdays have no class. But I think most of you who will go to Subang 3K will go there during weekend, and I imagine they will not so hardworking collect back those lines divider. So yeah, it probably will give some inconvenience to public swimmers.

The barefoot thing is what I find most geli, especially in the changing room. I can understand why footwear is not allowed near the pool, but in the changing room?

it's all relativity. 25% bodyfat will float better than 10% bodyfat. Swimming is one of the rare sport where fatso tends to perform better than lean people.

Then how come we don't see fat Olympic swimmers? tongue.gif

guys, please becareful when swimming at 3K subang jaya.
My car key was stolen yesterday and wallet + phone was stolen.

Advice put your belongings in the locker and lock it.

My mistake just put inside locker without lock ..

Aiyoh, putting in locker without locking is worse than putting it on the spectator bench beside the pool.

Has anyone been to bandar tun razak swimming pool?

Many pro swimmers there? I do not know how to swim at all and feel shy going there just to buat malu.
*
How's your progress?

I consider myself quarter-pro. I can swim 30 x 50m freestyle non stop in under 40mins (won't break any record, i know). Believe me, those pros won't even notice you. Their attention is probably set on other pros due to competitive nature.

When i was a noob, i felt shy too. It was like everyone would be looking at me.

I am a newby learning to swim. I have a goggles and i noticed that the water keep going in one eye and the other eye is fine. Would this be considered the goggles malfunction already and i need to get a new one?
*
I faced this issue with my new TYR goggles.
First, you can try the fit using "vacuum test". Google this. If both sides stick well when tested independently, you may have same problem with me.

Turned out that the distance between the two sides was too wide, even after using the smallest bridge. Solution: i used cable tie to connect the goggles and reduced the distance.

When shopping for new goggles, always do the vacuum test. Walk away if the shop does not allow testing.

Relying mostly on kicking to produce propulsion will tire even the fittest of swimmers. The legs have the biggest muscles in our body which produce lots of lactic acid.
I use 2-beat kicks when doing long distances, else it would be very tiring. Sacrifice some speed.

Water in nose /mouth can be caused by swimming too slowly, where there is no trough (bowl shaped water level) beside the head.

Anyone found any effective and lasting anti-fog methods for goggles ?

So far, spit i think is unhygienic, baby shampoo i think not good long term getting into the eyes.
*
Get anti-fog solution like this. You may have to apply before every swim. Much better than using saliva, shampoo or toothpaste.

I see some made-in-china ones, but don't dare to try, later eyes got problem, finish.

Try those sports shops selling swim wear and goggles.
