Guys, how you all train your stamina? I'm very very new to swimming and now I'm learning how to swim freestyle. I can't even swim half a lap in Shah Alam Aquatic Centre

QUOTE(timetravelller @ Jul 8 2013, 08:39 PM) Probably.. As I don't know how to swim at all.. I'm using my height to keep myself away from drowning LOL QUOTE(flying spaghetti monster @ Jul 8 2013, 09:04 PM) 1. Maybe you need the to fix some of your swimming technique. Probably.. I'm having a hard time controlling my breathing when I swim.. Is like always gasping for air after 2 strokes. The 3rd stroke only I tilt my head sideways to breathe. My friend asked me to swim more often in order to improve. Yes? 2. After finish a lap, reduce the resting time and keep pushing yourself to do the next lap. |

QUOTE(flying spaghetti monster @ Jul 8 2013, 11:24 PM) Freestyle breathing technique the best is to breath every 2 strokes. The purpose is to prevent your body getting out of air and sink. When you're getting out of air you'll be out of energy thus hard to swim longer distance. For sprinting it's different, because it's short distance, you can choose to breath every 2 to 4 strokes. The purpose is to reduce head movement thus reduce drag. Anyway you can watch how the Olympic swimmers swim freestyle on youtube to get some idea. Learn from the best. Cheers. Alright, will try it out. Thanks! |
