Hi guys, anyone swimming at olympic-size (length is 50m) swimming pool at Subang, Petaling, and KL area? Preferable a deep pool because what I read from the internet is the deeper the pool is the easier to float.

QUOTE(buynsell @ Apr 2 2013, 04:41 PM) Avoid this 3k sports kompleks. Thief stole my shorts (from a zip bag) consists of car key (zip in my shorts) then took cash and blackberry in my car, 'kind' enough to place the key on driver seat! Ya 3K swimming pool is lousy and has poor facility and security.QUOTE(timetravelller @ Apr 6 2013, 12:38 PM) The two 50m pools have been renovated? What has been improved? As I know the pool is shallow on the both end sides and deeper in the middle. A bit weird for a 50m pool.So are the lane ropes hanged in the pool? Is the water clear during weekends? Anyone have been swimming at National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil? Is the 5 lanes of the 8 lanes public pool still reserve for training? Last year I went there the 5 lanes of the public pool are reserved for some teens training. So the pool became quite crowded because only left a little space for us to swim. On the other hand, the main pool with 10 lanes are reserved for Malaysian competition swimmers, we public swimmers don't have the chance to swim in that 3m depth pool.

QUOTE(N1ck @ May 27 2013, 11:23 PM) Im new to this swimming thing. Normally swim with friends condo/clubhouse. Just leave stuff at the side, feel so safe because it is a guarded community. Might consider to keep your phone and wallet in your car. Put your car key in the public pool locker? I think it's not safe also coz even it's locked, thief also got their way to open the locker and steal, it happened before in professional fitness centre. Don't need to say public pool...Malaysia Boleh!I want to start swimming alone, lets say in Kelana Jaya or 3K where do I put my stuff? This post has been edited by Garena: Jun 14 2013, 04:23 PM |

QUOTE(KyeLunC @ Jul 8 2013, 08:38 PM) Guys, how you all train your stamina? I'm very very new to swimming and now I'm learning how to swim freestyle. I can't even swim half a lap in Shah Alam Aquatic Centre 1. Maybe you need the to fix some of your swimming technique.2. After finish a lap, reduce the resting time and keep pushing yourself to do the next lap. |

QUOTE(KyeLunC @ Jul 8 2013, 09:43 PM) Probably.. As I don't know how to swim at all.. I'm using my height to keep myself away from drowning LOL Freestyle breathing technique the best is to breath every 2 strokes. The purpose is to prevent your body getting out of air and sink. When you're getting out of air you'll be out of energy thus hard to swim longer distance. For sprinting it's different, because it's short distance, you can choose to breath every 2 to 4 strokes. The purpose is to reduce head movement thus reduce drag. Anyway you can watch how the Olympic swimmers swim freestyle on youtube to get some idea. Learn from the best. Cheers.Probably.. I'm having a hard time controlling my breathing when I swim.. Is like always gasping for air after 2 strokes. The 3rd stroke only I tilt my head sideways to breathe. My friend asked me to swim more often in order to improve. Yes? This post has been edited by Garena: Jul 9 2013, 12:13 AM |

QUOTE(timetravelller @ Jul 9 2013, 12:38 PM) Apparently the info you referred to is wrong. Try to look at Michael Phelps' and Sun Yang's freestyle swimming, they both rotate their body 45 degree when crawling forward. The proper way of freestyle swimming is that body have to rotate, head only rotates when taking breath. Body position should not be flat all the way, otherwise your arm hard to bend a v shape during recovery stroke. This post has been edited by Garena: Jul 11 2013, 09:43 PM |
