Getting my 15R SE Full HD tomorrow What should I do first once I get it? A lot of people say must update the drivers, especially the GPU driver so no BSoD, but how do I do that ah?

Typing this from the 15R SE A question, the SSD comes standard with the 15R SE Full HD right? How do I check if it's actually there? Because when I go to My Computer, it just shows the 1TB hard disk

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Aug 13 2012, 04:17 PM) The SSD is a mSata SSD, used for IntelSRT caching, not for file storage. Go device manager you should be able to see it or open Intel SRT software to enable caching. Got it. Thanks As a noob to Windows 7, can someone guide me on the following: 1. What is the best power management plan to use if I don't want the battery to be constantly charged? And should I disable sleep mode if I want to leave the laptop to download overnight? 2. How to update drivers? 3. How to create a partition for my hard disk? 4. How to monitor temperature? Any recommended softwares or does the laptop have its own built-in software?

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Aug 14 2012, 12:34 AM) for my case even though I received sms that it will be delivered tomorrow, the order status is still 'Ship From Factory' and I don't have tracking number either. Just have to wait then. I never checked my online status. Just relied on the SMS, and it was correct. If SMS says tomorrow then tomorrow it will come Ordered two Dell units already, both same case. QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Aug 15 2012, 03:33 AM) TM/Streamyx blocked it. The other computer can because it has changes dns address. Use google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 then can access. Really, Unifi blocks depositfiles? Never had a problem accessing the site from my old laptop. Anyway, reading the tutorial on google dns, so after this can access the site anytime? Edit: should I change for only TCP/IPv4 or for both TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6? This post has been edited by ocyrus: Aug 15 2012, 03:56 AM

Hey guys, how's the battery like on your 15R SE FHD? Mine's really crappy, only lasts 90-100 minutes on a full charge. Shouldn't be like this, right?
And does anyone know about the desktop mode battery charge? I thought it's purpose is to charge the battery whenever it reaches 50% only, even though it's always plugged in. But on mine it keeps on charging all the time.

QUOTE(kiawin @ Aug 27 2012, 04:31 PM) Depending on your usage, the machine should give you about 2 hours plus. Can't blame the batteries as the screen and the graphic card will suck much of your batteries in no time. I able to get close to 3 hours of normal wifi + office work. Don't expect to have good battery life if it invovles multimedia or games Such gigantic lappy not designed to run long hours on batteries Actually the 90-100 minutes is only from normal browsing and watching movies. Didn't even play games.

XPS Viewer 3. Stage Remote 4. Dell SyncUP 5. Dell Datasafe 6. Dell Stage 7. Microsoft Silverlight I'm also planning to uninstall McAfee and install Microsoft Security Essentials since it's highly recommended by people on Reddit. Any thoughts?

Whenever I play videos (using Media Player Classic), the fan starts spinning really fast and becomes real noisy. Anybody else experiencing this with their 15R SE FHD?
