QUOTE(Gurvin Abruzzi @ May 16 2012, 06:31 PM) I got download few movies n want play with my DVD player. DVD player support USB.. Preferably a codec and format that most DVD players can understand, such as the MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 codec in MPEG or AVI file container. Convert then copy to USB and plug in DVD player and play. S |

QUOTE(Gurvin Abruzzi @ May 16 2012, 07:00 PM) What container u toking? AVI file format is acutally a "container". You can use different codecs inside AVI file, that includes MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Indeo, MPEG-4, H.264, XVid, etc. Other well known containers are MKV (Matroska), OGM (Ogg Media) and MOV (Apple QuickTime Movie). QUOTE(Gurvin Abruzzi @ May 16 2012, 07:00 PM) Can just use any converters then concert to mpeg / avi n them play? Plenty of them (software to convert to different video formats) in fact. Check the tutorials and software recommendations in this section, especially at the pinned threads. Can help explain in detail n maybe teach / tutorial.. QUOTE(Gurvin Abruzzi @ May 16 2012, 07:00 PM) My DVD player is sony... No idea, check the manual and see what type of file formats it can play (and try them out in the player yourself). MP4 format is usually for MPEG-4 or H.264/XVid codecs. If you have older players then it may not recognize certain newer variatios of the same codecs (e.g. H.264-Hi10p). Thus if your player supports MP4 but does not play every MP4 file, then you may need to update the player's firmware. Thus usually older MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 are much more compatible with older players. Likewise MPG, MP1, MP2 and VOB file formats are for MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 codecs. If thefile is mp4, can directly play ah? This post has been edited by lex: May 16 2012, 09:39 PM |

What's the model of your DVD player?
I've got myself a couple of DVD players with USB support as well as for video file playback. Haven't encountered any problems with AVI and MP4 files. MKV and RMVB files don't work though. |
