From what i read last month in one of the local newspaper (Berita Harian, i guess), government is now preparing the facilities so that we could have 10Mbps connection at home by 2007..
I think it`s a good news.. , hopefully, the international link is now being upgraded as well.. This post has been edited by vivre: Jan 29 2006, 03:56 AM |

How's FREE Wifi Internet access with your personal account sounds?
That's what some cities in US are implementing (eg. Seattle, Philadelphia, San Francisco). Example: Google is providing the free wifi for Mountain View/San Fran. In suburb of St.Louis, I am working with the local city govt to give free broadband access to local citizens, part of their funding from the education and research area. Come to think of it. Why not? If the govt wants its citizens to be part of the digital change, just empower them to access the information world free. Just like they build roads to reach out to rural communities.. etc.( except of course, in Malaysia, the govt wants to put more tolls as well) |

I lived in UK for 7 years so I know what im talking about. Do you know why work pay in Malaysia low? The goverment want to keep the cost of living and etc low so it can attract foreign investor especially those multinational company that runs a regional office in Singapore to Malaysia. Just look how many those company move to Malaysia in recent years. We're still a developing country and you cant compare us with UK. Just ask your friend in UK wheter they watch a movie before for 1 pound or watching a live football match for 2 pound? This post has been edited by Chartry: Feb 2 2006, 01:29 PM |
