Just wondering if anybody knows whether Maxis supports Fast Dormancy? Apparently it seems like if the service provider does not support this, it's good to switch it off in our phones in order to improve battery life.

Well I do occasionally get this especially when I sleep. The next morning I wake up, the mobile data is unavailable and need to manually turn off and then on it again. But it's not really an issue for me. Anyway, I'm using the 11.69A.3504.00_11.23.3504.07_M2 radio and seems to be pretty stable so far, haven't really seen this issue lately.

So far I didn't switch off my mobile data. Some of them reported that switching off mobile data can actually reduce battery drain which some applications like juice defender can be configured to switch it off when you sleep based on the profile set. However, I leave it on and so far I've no issues with battery drain on this area.

Added on June 8, 2012, 3:52 pmI used the adb method coz I find it so much easier. Do remember to flash the matching RIL as well after you've updated the radio. The matching RIL for this radio version is HTC-RIL 4.0.0017HMQ.

You mean your phone lasted only 2-3 hours? That's scary. Just wondering, did you do another reboot cycle after you flashed the kernel? My usual practice is always after flashing any kernels, I'll let the ROM boot up and stabilize for a while and then do a full reboot cycle. I flashed bricked 1.31 yesterday, did a full charge last night around 10pm, did a couple of SMSes, a bit of browsing and went to sleep. This morning I last checked around 8am, the battery was still at 100%.

Which version of Bricked did you download? There are currently 2 versions, one for AOSP-based and the other for Sense-based ROMs. Since you're going for ARHD, you should be flashing this one.

This is my usage yesterday based on stock battery.

v1.4 is supposed to be rebased on the 3.33 source and is suppose to fix the issue where the new adreno GPU drivers (from ROMs based on 3.33) causing reboots on 3.32 based kernels. However, I see that there are still some issues with v1.4 as reported by many of them in xda. If you're on a ROM which is still based on 3.32, I'd suggest that you stick with your current kernel.

As for the 3.33 FW, I understand that the only change is the new radio. You can still flash the radio separately if you want. So far I'm getting pretty good reception with this new radio, better than the previous one.

Mine is 00P, I downloaded the FW from here.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, there are still some problems with the v1.4 and folks in xda have been reporting that also. What is your ROM based and FW version?

EDIT: from your banner, I assume you're on Leedroid? Leedroid is still on 3.32 if I'm not wrong, so the best bet right now is stick with the 3.32 kernel for stability.

This was the statement from Faux regarding HTC's released 3.33 source:

Faux found this when he's trying to build the new kernel for 3.33-base and that's the reason why he's holding it and trying to clean up all the issues before releasing the new kernel.

Yes it should drain more of your battery and you'll get a higher temperature too.

I've been using Hypernonsense so far and no regrets at all. It's been very stable, smooth and battery life is fabulous!
I started from ARHD, tried Leedroid and then Hypernonsense, never thought of going back to Sense after that. However, it's all up to personal preferences ya.

Yeah, Hypernonsense has the Sense part stripped off because this is the only way to have the best of both worlds. There is a reason why the Sense base is maintained in order to run those applications built on Sense. The reason why I didn't go for Hypersensation is because of the camera (tried that before and went back to Hypernonsense). I still find the Sense camera a lot better and stable compared to AOSP/CM's camera at the moment. Again, this depends on personal preferences.

I've been using the DSP Manager and so far I feel the 'ooomph' is really very good as compared to Beats.

Yup, try out the Dynamic Range Compression and Bass Boost.

AOSP is Android Open Source Project. Actually AOKP was derived from AOSP. The original source code was from AOSP and then some devs will take the code and modify them and therefore becomes AOKP which stands for Android Open Kang Project. "Kang" is actually a word for "stealing" someone's code but of course in this context here, it's not for a negative purpose but towards a positive purpose in making the code better and further enhancing it.

You may wanna give CM9 a try? It's already in stable release now.
