there's one XE user got experience with this. You can go few pages back. I think that guy managed to get it within below rm300 i think..not sure..

i did send my XE with s-off to SIS...but the problem was only the vol button got broken...so i dun think they checked the firmware of the phone...what they did just to change the back cover...n my waranty is still on till now..

I managed to s-off 2 XE using 2 different methods from XDA...you shud be fine bro..

Now im enjoying AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2.2....super fast ROM...awesome!

agreed...especially if yours already HBOOT 1.27..need to use jeopunutbear...but it can be done..hehe...quite easy as well...but yes a bit tricky...

Go to setting..power..then untick Fastboot..
Then turn off your phone..
Once the phone is off, press and hold vol- button..then press and hold power button...hold both buttons until the white screen appears..it will show your hboot version.

i was just like you man. but then decided to just try it out, and turns out JB 4.2.2 is superbly smooth and fast. now starting to forget all the sense widget + vipers mods biggrin.gif

For SuperXE , i use Sultan Kernel...bcoz of the sweep2wake feature.
SuperXE suits me well. One thing that bothers me a bit is the missing battery %.
