CM9 is currently in stable release. However, there are still some glitches here and there not fixed, that's the reason why there're still nightly builds even after the stable release. If you're fine without the Sense camera, you could give CM9 a go. The reason why I'm sticking with HNS is because of the Sense camera. However I've tried CM9 before but somehow I still feel HNS to be faster and smoother in scrolling, maybe it's just me. Oh yeah, s-off and root and you're free like a bird!

I've not faced this so far but you may wanna try to clear the Data of the camera app and see if it'll solve your problem.

In fact, anthrax v3.1.8 can be used for both Sense 4 and 3.6 without issues. By the way, new anthrax should be coming soon.

Don't use the 'c' version 1st because it should be under testing for the Evo3D devices 1st.

Anthrax 3.4.3 has been released. If you need swap or zram then go for this version. The dev is kind enough to include swap in today's release after I requested for it yesterday.

Swap is working like a charm!!!

The dev initially disabled it because he based Anthrax from Evo3D and according to him, the Evo fellas found that their phone runs better without swap/zram because they've 1Gb of RAM. However, I explained to him that our Sensation has less available RAM and therefore swap could be beneficial and so he agreed to enable it in this latest release. What a man!

Swap is something like virtual memory that you'll have on your PC. It's a space created on disk which will act like an extended RAM, which virtually gives your system more memory. However, since it's residing on disk, performance will be slower than actual RAM. That's why only apps or processes which are idling in RAM will be transferred to swap and freeing up the RAM for new or active apps/processes.

In my case here, I created a physical partition on my sdcard and formatted it as linux swap. Then when the kernel boots, it'll need to recognize it as swap to utilize the extended memory space. I created a 256mb swap, therefore I'll virtually have 1gb (768mb RAM+256mb swap) memory on my sensation. This will allow for better multitasking capabilities due to the ability to have more apps/processes running at the same time.

I think there's a problem with faux's battery reporting coz I consistently got around 11c with faux's kernel and logically speaking, 11c is way too low and especially with our weather like that, it's definitely not winter. I believe 30+ till 40c is quite reasonable especially when we stress it up a bit.

I'm trying out the Xondemand governor. Should run cooler n less battery drain compared to ondemand. Let's see how it goes.

By the way, version 3.4.4 has beats audio enabled by default on the kernel itself.

Vsync is not Zram. Zram is a portion of the phone's RAM being utilized with compression to give it virtually more RAM, you lose some physical RAM but you gain a bit more RAM virtually. Vsync is for the display, what I understand is when Vsync is on, our display will be locked to 60 fps refresh rate which could give us a smoother display.

It's a bit weird that anthrax is making your hp hot. I've been running mine for a week and the temperature has been pretty stable. The battery temp is roughly around 25C during normal use. The kernel is rock solid!

Are you trying out the 24/9 version? Do let me know if the scrolling is still sticky or smooth... trying scrolling in the browser. I know the UI is quite smooth but then most of the AOSP has this problem that the browser scroll is not so smooth. For example, using the Sense ROMs, you just have to flick in the browser and it'll scroll fluidly. By right the 24/9 version which enabled triple buffering should help. So it'll be good if you can try it out and let us know.

OK, thanks for the feedback. I've tried CM10 a couple of times back on the previous builds but then found the browsing not smooth. I've also tried Elegancia and ViperS but they don't last me more than 24 hours and I'm always back to HyperNonSense. I still can't find a better reason to move away from HyperNonSense, it's simply rock solid and smooth! The reason I'm looking at CM10 is because of project butter, but it seems that only the UI is smooth at the moment and not the browsing part. We'll see how it progresses.
