most of the time spent arranging and rearranging the models. i really don't like the current display arrangement... can't really appreciate the individual aircraft. looks too congested with 20+ models per shelf and some had to go without their display stands. will probably get another detolf to display the witty wings to free up the billy space and spread out the fighter aircraft collection... or get rid of some of my helicopter collection. raya project, perhaps...

hmm... dunno why ikea didn't come out with glass shelves for their billy series. hemnes tempered glass shelves are only rm10 for a 44x29. anyway, you drilled extra holes above and below the hinges, huh? i kinda wondered why ikea never did, but i supposed it was for installation convenience.

anyway, back to topic... where are the rest of your fac??? looks like 8 models only?

from ebay average slightly above us$20/model (incl shipping) so yeah, more than double the fac retail price. but i think if you're willing to pay a little bit more (around us$5) you could choose to get the models from amercom-hobby which comes with the magazine Amercom-Hobby

true... true... billy is bookcase, not display cabinet. but even then the shelves will sag over the years. 44x29cm la... to fit the hemnes series. if inches is super huge, bro. you use glass shelf plugs? me thinking of using the existing shelf holder plug enclosed in pvc tubing to prevent the glass from moving.

average how much per model? if it's less than rm45/model inclusive of the magazine, then it's a real bargain. the oz fac retails at aud14.95...

yup... kinda like our mig-29, except that ours only change in decals. the paint scheme was totally off. kinda exciting hunting down those elusive models, eh?

yeah, got quite a few... a6 intruder, f111 aardvark, f117 nighthawk, sr-71 blackbird and b2 spirit. no la... won't be pissed. we live in the present and my purchases are based on present circumstances. if i could wait for the gwc to be introduced, then i would... but i suppose i can't, so i didn't. no point living on "what ifs", i guess

yups... just the models, no magazine. the italeris were in better shape than the amercoms, but they came from different sellers anyway.

the f15s were sold out long ago. looks like the teen series still the most popular of the lot!

i've been pretty fortunate that so far only one parcel has been detained thus far... but not for a diecast airplane. i think the major consideration for customs to inspect the parcel is the size of the box, not the price (i've had many parcels costing more than rm500 shipped in without problems). the one that got detained cost just slightly above rm500 but the box was HUGE. i think the local partners are usually pos malaysia... but there has been other eds providers too. i don't think using a particular eds will determine whether your parcel gets detained or not. hope this helps. amazon's price seems reasonable... and free shipping is always a plus for us here in malaysia.
